More than 1,000 teeth extracted. Hundreds of lives impacted. One incredible mission rooted in compassion and service.

Recently, USOSM surgeon partner Dr. Michael Hale and his volunteer team traveled to Kenya’s Rift Valley, where they provided critical dental care to approximately 1,000 patients over seven days. Working from sunrise to sunset, the team treated patients of all ages — many of whom had little to no access to oral healthcare.

From extractions and restorative care to oral health education and community outreach, this mission reflects the power of using clinical expertise to create lasting impact far beyond the walls of the practice.

We’re proud to support our surgeon partners through the USOSM Medical Mission Reimbursement Program and are grateful for the compassion, leadership, and dedication shown by everyone involved. We’re also grateful for the support of Henry Schein, a valued USOSM partner, whose contributions helped make this mission possible and further expanded access to essential oral healthcare services.

Our surgeon partners recently enjoyed hosting their valued referral partners for a collaborative treatment planning continuing education program.

The highly interactive session featured small-group discussions in which attendees developed and compared preferred treatment plans, participated in structured collaborative case reviews, refined diagnostic workflows, explored interdisciplinary treatment options, and discussed strategies for anticipating and managing potential complications.

We’re grateful to our referral partners for contributing and helping to advance clinical standards.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Ali Payami and the team at Hudson Valley Oral Surgery to USOSM!

“The practice has been treating patients in the Hudson Valley community for decades and during that time has developed a well-earned reputation for clinical excellence and compassion, characteristics we highly value and look for in our partnerships,” said USOSM CEO Doug Drew.

Clinical education, alongside our valued referral partners, remains at the core of our commitment to advancing clinical standards.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration at these events, we’re able to learn from one another and continue elevating care through evidence-based practices.

Early 2026 took us coast to coast with educational programs hosted across 30 locations. We covered digital workflows, advanced tissue regeneration, prosthetic success with implants among others in hands-on lab environments. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed.

Clinical autonomy matters—and it’s one of the most important factors surgeons consider when exploring partnership.

At US Oral Surgery Management, our approach is built around supporting surgeons without compromising their independence, so they can focus on what matters most: patient care.

We’re proud to partner with providers like Dr. John Salek-Raham, who are able to maintain full clinical autonomy while benefiting from the resources and support of a broader network.

Early detection saves lives.

Oral cancer is often diagnosed late, making treatment more complicated and outcomes less favorable. That’s why oral cancer screenings are so important, and why many surgeons in the USOSM network are providing free screenings this month in partnership with the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation.

Catching issues early can improve survival rates, reduce the intensity of treatment, and lead to better long-term outcomes. These screenings are more than community outreach—they’re a vital part of patient care.

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and diagnosing oral cancer, helping ensure patients receive timely care.

By combining clinical expertise with expanded access to screenings, providers are helping drive earlier diagnoses and better outcomes.

April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month, and surgeons across the OMS community—including those within US Oral Surgery Management practices—are supporting free screening efforts in partnership with the Head & Neck Cancer Foundation.
