Congratulations are in order for our grand prize winners for the Children’s Summer Reading Challenge! Azebeth, MJ and Kebron completed all seven weeks reading and were the lucky winners of the completion drawing.
We’re so thankful for everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Challenge this year! Reading over the summer has shown to help beat the summer slide, so we know our library littles are in good shape heading into the new school year.
It’s a great day to celebrate and support reading!
It’s almost September, which means Library 💜 Local is back! Samantha and Ana are here to tell you about how to participate using an Irving Public Library card to get awesome offers from local businesses and how to enter into our prize giveaways.

They say teamwork makes the dream work, and that's so true for the Irving Public Library!
In order to provide you better service, each location will be closed for one day during the last week of August. The closures will rotate, so you will always have access to a branch!
In-Services give our staff a time for important trainings so we can continue to improve our service to you, our patrons. 🫡
Congrats! You made it through the first week of school! Back-to-school season opens a new chapter for learners, and Irving Public Library is here to support all the new discoveries and knowledge exploring! We offer so many helpful resources that are all free with an Irving Public Library card.

While there's a programming break happening during the last two weeks of August at IPL, we're still offering our book clubs! There's plenty of time to read or listen and pop in to discuss at the following:
Super Cool Book Club (meeting a week earlier than usual this month)

Heritage Book Club (must be a Senior Center Member to attend)

📚 Library In-Service Closures
To allow staff to participate in annual in-service training, one Irving library location will be closed each day. The other two locations will remain open with regular hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 25
• South Irving Library closed

• Valley Ranch Library closed
Thursday, Aug. 27
• West Irving Library closed

If your baby, child or teen participated in the Summer Reading Challenge, today is the LAST DAY to get those prizes! Take those logs to any location (prizes subject to availability) and staff will be happy to help.

Howdy!
It seems that hoopla services are being tricky for some users, especially if you’re using an Apple device.
Hoopla is working to fix the problem, but in the meantime, if you encounter a problem please try uninstalling and re-installing the app. Fear not! It should not affect your downloads, account, saved titles or borrow history, though you may have to re-download any titles you’re currently using.
