My Window View

It’s not everyday that you see a 50 year old aircraft carrier glide by work. This is the USS Nimitz and it is going by on its way to the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA, after a nine month deployment. You can see the sailors at the rail if you look closely. The wind and rain had to be tough for them. The Nimitz is going for scrap in 2026.

I moved back to the Midwest after 22 years away. Best thing I’ve ever done! My backyard is a forest and I get deer and turkeys visiting all the time.
This is my view from my front yard however. The deer was drinking water from my bird bath and interacting with my cat! Eau Claire, Wisconsin US.

I moved here to Belfair, Washington, in the northwest corner of the USA to a little cabin on the Hood Canal 30 years ago after my son died of leukemia and my husband had moved on. This view is from my studio where I have found peace, love, and joy. Today I was told the local pod of orca are paying us a visit. I will be watching from my window and dreaming of playing with the orca.

I will be working from home from now on, to which there are pros and cons. One of the things I will miss most are the views from our office window. This picture looks down on Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, USA. The sculpture is formally named Cloud Gate, but Locals all call it The Bean. You can stand under it and look up at your reflection, or down on it from the 23rd floor, as I am doing. From up here, I can see why it’s called Cloud Gate!

I've been waiting for a sunny day.. and the kangaroo... to take my photo of our view. We live in Sanctuary Point NSW Australia and we love our backyard and creek access, even if it floods occasionally! When the kangaroo visits.. he gets the run of the yard as they can be quite intimidating.. very difficult to entice him to leave.. he regularly comes by and likes to eat our Australian native plant 'kangaroo paw' which I find amusing as the flannel flower on the plant looks like a kangaroo paw!

I don't actually know how I stumbled upon your group, but I'm sure to say it has been a great find.
I feel that Eastern Europe has such a bad reputation, that even though I don't have much to show, I'll put it out there.
This is view from my kitchen window. Although tehnically this is a rural area, we live so close to the biggest city in the region that we are now that city's metropolitan area. We live on the first floor (or as some of you would say the second) of a 4 storey building.
When most people hear of Eastern Europe they think of underdeveloped countries, awful housing in cities, mostly rural areas and awful-russian-like english involving criminal activities.
It's a historical fact that we are behind on many things, (because of communism till 1989) but it is also true that we are trying our best.
Having that said, hello from Romania, Transylvania, Cluj - where we enjoy the 5th fastest internet in the World! Measured by Ookla this April (2021) - "Global Speeds April 2021"
