Today started off very heartwarming. I received a call from a dispatcher requesting a unique favor...
The man pictured below is Phillip. Phillip lives alone and lately has been very lonely and sad. After speaking with Dispatcher Morse this morning, Dispatcher Morse thought of a great idea to bring a smile to Phillip's face. Dispatcher Morse called me with the idea of bringing a coffee and muffin to Phillip.
This is where the story gets better.
As I arrived at Dunkin Donuts in Tilton to purchase a muffin and coffee I was met by a man named Phil Bonafide. Phil offered to buy me a coffee but I explained to him I was not there for me, but rather buying a coffee and muffin for an elderly man to bring a smile to his face. Phil still offered to purchase these items and did, going out of his way to help someone he's never met.
I took these items to Phillip, the one pictured below, and it brought him to tears that someone went out of their way to do this for him. I explained to Phillip that it was not all my idea, I was simply the one who was able to deliver him the items.
I was able to spend a few minutes talking to Phillip as he ate his muffin (he doesn't drink coffee) and I learned his favorite sport is Golf and that he is very proud of his family.
You could tell something as small as a muffin made his day and when I left Phillip asked for a hug. This absolutely melted me.
Thank you to Dispatcher Morse and Phil Bonafide for helping me make this man smile!!

"WOW okay so the most amazing thing just happened to me and I can’t help but share it with the world. American Airlines instituted a new policy where you have to pay to take a carry-on onto the plane. Which is ridiculous but off topic. I consolidate my bags into one and they measure it and say it’s just a little too big. They proceed to charge me $50, except they only take credit card, no cash. Since I just got back from Europe all my cards are being declined as Chase doesn’t know I’m back. They tell me that I’m going to have to miss the flight and head back to the ticket counter to pay down there. I’m pleading, devastated after a long day of travel. Then, this man walks up and says, “How much is it?” They tell him $50 and he says “I got it.” I’m astonished and tell him it’s fine not to worry and he hands the lady his card as the American Airlines employees stand in silence shocked by this man’s generosity. They swipe the card and he tells me to have a great flight and hop on board. I’m crying as I write this and as I board the flight. This man was an angel. I stop him as he’s sitting in first class and try to give him my money but he just shook me off and told me to pay it forward. My heart is so happy. There are good people in this world. Be that person for someone because I know after this I sure will be." 💕 Update: It was NFL player, Jermaine Gresham.

5 years ago on July 1, I moved into this 1926 little yellow house as a renter. I had just been through a difficult divorce and it was a refuge for me and my older children while I rebuilt my life. 5 years later, I have a new SO, new baby, my older kids are thriving, and suddenly my landlords gave me the news they were gonna sell the house. I wasn't expecting to ever buy this home, but when they said that I thought...NO, I don't want to leave! This is home now ❤️ Yesterday it became official that I'm purchasing the little yellow house on the corner and I could not be more thrilled to say this is "our old house"!! I can't wait to celebrate her 100th birthday in a couple years.

Hello everyone, I'm not in a good place right now and could really use your prayers. I'm 52 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with metastases to the brain in June. I've gone through brain radiation and just had my 2nd round of chemo 4 days ago. There's so much going on in my life that I'm feeling very depressed and overwhelmed. I'm a caregiver for my elderly mother and my husband and I have decided to sell our home and move into hers. It's not what I was expecting but due to circumstances, it's what we have to do. My doctors have given me a prognosis of 1-3 years to live. It's all so overwhelming. I know that God has a plan for me and I trust him. I'm just not ready for all of this. May I ask for prayers for me and my family. Thank you

That day, in a crowded airport, something extraordinary was about to happen. Bruno, a gentle and loyal dog, sat quietly beside his owner, Daniel, a man whose eyes were filled with both excitement and sadness. He was leaving for a new life in another country, a fresh start—but there was a problem. Bruno, his lifelong companion, wasn’t allowed to travel in the hold due to his size and health concerns.
Daniel pleaded with the airline staff, desperation in his voice. “I can’t leave him behind,” he whispered, his hands gripping Bruno’s fur as if letting go would shatter him.
What happened next was nothing short of a miracle. The crew, moved by the undeniable bond between the man and his dog, decided to break protocol. “We’ll find him a place in the cabin,” one of them said with a reassuring smile. And so, with a bit of rearranging and some understanding passengers, Bruno was carefully placed in a seat, cradled like a child in Daniel’s arms.
As the plane took off, Bruno remained still, his deep brown eyes scanning the unfamiliar surroundings. There was no barking, no whining—just quiet trust. It was as if he knew that this was their only chance to stay together.
Passengers who had first been skeptical were soon enchanted. A woman next to them gently stroked Bruno’s head, a man in the row ahead turned back to take a picture, and even the flight attendants couldn’t help but smile. One of them whispered, “He’s probably the best passenger we’ve ever had.”
Throughout the journey, Daniel never let go of Bruno. He held him close, whispering reassurances, letting the warmth of his best friend remind him that no matter where they were going, they were together.
When the plane landed, Daniel exhaled in relief. He turned to Bruno, his voice thick with emotion, “We made it, buddy.” Tears streamed down his face as he realized—against all odds, they had won their battle.
That flight wasn’t just about reaching a new country. It was a reminder to everyone onboard that love, loyalty, and kindness can sometimes defy even the strictest rules.
That day, an airline made an exception—but in reality, they had made history in the heart of a man and his dog. ❤️🐶✈️

Julie Andrews Turning 79 - this is hysterical!
To commemorate her birthday , actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'. Here are the lyrics she used:
(Sing It!) - If you sing it, its especially hysterical!!! )
Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad

My kitty watches me from up on the deck railing until I notice him and let him inside. I can see him from my desk in my home office. He makes me smile. ❤️Connecticut, USA ( the northeast corner of the US).
(His name is Harry, he was a feral street cat I adopted from a TNS ( trap neuter/spay) program to be a barn cat. Over about a years time, after spending hours talking and sitting with him, he decided on Christmas Eve, I was his person. He walked onto my lap, put his face to mine and an overwhelming sense of my mother’s love washed over me. ( she’d passed about a year before). Since that night, he and I are bonded like soulmates. We adore each other. ❤️

A Reminder Florida - baby Squirrels running after you and clinging to the leg of your pants are not rabid ! They are doing this out of sheer desperation because they have lost their mom and have been lacking care for days. Young Squirrels are an exception in the animal kingdom - when they have lost contact with their mom and suffer hunger and thirst, they gather all their courage and purposefully seek help from humans. Most of these animals are also injured by a fall from a tree. Help them. Please never hurt them. 🌰🐿🥜❤️

Robin Williams stepped into a yellow New York City taxi one evening after an exhausting day on set. The driver, an older man with a worn face and a quiet demeanor, barely looked up as the actor settled in. As the car began to move through the bustling streets, Robin, with his innate curiosity, struck up a conversation. He had a knack for connecting with people in a way that felt effortless, and this cab ride was no exception.
The driver started sharing the realities of his life behind the wheel long hours, difficult passengers, and the endless grind of trying to make ends meet in one of the toughest cities in the world. Robin, genuinely interested, leaned in to listen, encouraging the man to share more. As the conversation flowed, the subject shifted from the taxi business to the man’s personal journey. When Robin asked about his passions, the driver hesitated, but something about Robin’s approachable nature made it impossible not to open up.
The man admitted he had once dreamed of being a musician. Years ago, he had spent countless nights playing the saxophone in small jazz clubs in the Bronx. Music had been his escape, his joy, his identity. But life’s responsibilities had eventually taken over. Family, bills, and the need for stability pushed him to put his saxophone away and step into the driver’s seat of a cab, trading melodies for miles on the odometer.
Robin listened intently, his face lighting up as the man spoke about the days when music had been his lifeblood. He asked if the man still played, and the driver confessed that the instrument had been gathering dust in a closet for years. There had been no time, no energy, and, over time, no belief that it mattered anymore.
As the cab reached its destination, Robin encouraged the man to pick up his saxophone again. He reminded him that the world needed music and that the joy he felt playing it years ago was still within him, waiting to be rediscovered. The driver, visibly moved, promised himself that he would at least try. Robin handed him a tip that far exceeded the fare, but it wasn’t just the money that made the night unforgettable. It was the way Robin had made him feel seen, understood, and valued not as a cab driver, but as a person with a dream that still mattered.
Later that night, the driver went home, opened his closet, and stared at the saxophone case he hadn’t touched in years. For the first time in what felt like forever, he felt a spark of inspiration, a glimmer of hope. That single conversation with Robin Williams wasn’t just a fleeting exchange; it was a moment of human connection that reignited a forgotten part of himself.
For Robin, this kind of interaction wasn’t out of the ordinary. He had a rare ability to turn even the simplest moments into something meaningful. For the driver, it was a reminder that dreams, no matter how long they’ve been dormant, can always be revived.

“Well, my night took an unexpected turn! After finishing my night out, I found myself in the dreaded McDonald's queue. That’s when I noticed the lady in front of me. All she asked for was a cup of hot water.
The staff told her no. I couldn’t understand why. Here was a lady, clearly homeless, asking for such a basic human need. For a multi-billion-pound company to say no was just heartbreaking.
I couldn’t leave things at that, so I spoke with her and told her to order what she wanted. To my surprise, she only asked for a single cheeseburger. That was it. I bought as much as I could carry to make sure she wouldn’t go hungry.
But I couldn’t just let her go, so I sat with her, on the cold hard floor, in the middle of winter. And you know what? I cried my eyes out.
When I finally got to speak to her, I was amazed at her story. She was so educated, full of life, and enthusiasm—yet she had nothing.
I invited Polly and her friend back to my house, and we cooked enough food to feed them and their friends for the next few nights. We packed it all up in bags for them.
Polly and her friend had showers, brushed their teeth, and they both said they had never felt so appreciated. I’m no saint, but this small act of kindness cost me about £20. I know that most people reading this make at least 10 times that in a day.
It costs nothing to be kind, and I genuinely hope people share this to raise awareness about homelessness across the UK...
I've kept in touch with Polly, and I’ve promised her she will never go hungry or cold again. I’ve given her blankets, pillows, and a backpack full of food.
If you see someone on the streets, don’t look down on them like they’re nothing. You don’t know what they’ve been through. Spare a little thought.
I don’t care if I look a mess from crying. Polly, you’ve changed me.”

The night before Thankgiving, I was walking through our basement with an armload of firewood when I saw something that I could not quite believe. It was confusing and heartrending at the same time. A small mouse was sitting upright in the middle of our basement. It was hunched over, hanging its head with its eyes closed, and this may sound crazy, but it looked sad and completely defeated.
I approached it slowly, hoping that it was just fast asleep, drunk on whatever food it had managed to scrounge from our cellar. Sadly, that was not the case. As I reached out a hand to let it know that I was close, it lifted its head, looked up at me sideways, and slumped, hanging its head and closing its eyes again. It made no attempt to move. It was vulnerable and helpless.
As I gently picked it up, it did not protest - it assumed the same position. It looked up at me once, dropped its head to its chest again and closed its eyes. Within a few minutes it was asleep in my hand.
Close inspection revealed an injured rear leg that the mouse was dragging behind it. We consulted with a wildlife rehabilitator who was at capacity but offered valuable advice. She said it was likely nerve damage and suggested a week of cage rest to see if the injury would resolve on its own. So we spent the holiday weekend creating a habitat for and feeding our new guest. And we are seeing significant progress already.
Our guest will be with us for a few more days, until it is strong enough to be integrated with a colony - at that time, we'll bring it to our dear friend Ellen Jareckie, a wildlife rehabilitator and the artist behind House Mouse Designs. She will keep the mouse through the winter and release it when it is stronger, in early spring.
I think it would be safe to assume that many who read this will believe that I am nuts for spending days trying to rehabilitate a mouse, and I understand. But seeing a small, helpless creature in a vulnerable state broke my heart. I had to do something.
