1. Three takeaways -
1.
Our mission is to think globally and act locally by:
*Growing and maintaining trees and shrubs to reforest urban spaces,
*Removing waste through litter pickup or “plalking” in parks,
*Spreading awareness about sustainable living. Replace single-use items - bottles, paper, shopping bags - with reusable options. Throw litter in trash cans and recycle metal, paper, and plastic per city guidelines.

🌿 Our inaugural Earth Bazaar, hosted by One Earth One Chance, was a resounding success with an incredible turnout and vibrant community participation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nivas for the venue and to Foundation for the meaningful tree planting that beautifully set the tone for the day. From a rejuvenating yoga session by Shah, an engaging panel discussion moderated by Parbhoo, a street play by Bhattacharya and troupe, an energetic dance session by Nair, sustainable shopping opportunities, and a sustainable fashion show that recognized outstanding contributors from the past year—every moment drew attention to Climate Change and its impact, and reflected our shared commitment to zero waste and sustainable living.
Thank you to our vendors, volunteers, and attendees for making this event truly memorable.🌿

Ajay Vonkarey of One Earth One Chance recently had the opportunity to speak at a Lions Club event in Dallas (https://lionsdistrict2x1.org/) on the urgent themes of climate change, sustainability, and the power of volunteerism.
The presentation focused on how individual and community actions can collectively drive meaningful environmental impact, and how local initiatives can connect to global change. It was encouraging to see such an engaged audience, with members showing genuine curiosity about practical ways to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and within their communities. What stood out most was the enthusiasm from both the Lions and the Leos, whose energy brought an inspiring dimension to the event.
The younger Leos, in particular, asked thoughtful questions and expressed strong interest in taking action. Many attendees were excited to learn about opportunities to get involved with One Earth One Chance(www.https://www.oneearthonechance.org/) , and several showed a clear willingness to volunteer and contribute to ongoing sustainability efforts.
The event not only sparked important conversations but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration and community-driven impact.
Thank you to Surya Bhandari and Christy Householter for the partnership and opportunity to be a part of this community event.
