Texas Open Racquetball
USA Racquetball Sanctioned Event - Landmark Fitness Club Dallas, TX - Host Hotel - Westin Park Central www.texasopenproam.com - [email protected]
Thinking about maybe bringing back the Texas Open Racquetball tournament. What do you think? In the wake of so many tournaments getting cancelled and Texas finally opening back up I’m knocking around the idea of bringing the tournament back but it would not be a pro tourney this time around although we would have good prize money in the open divisions. I’m just starting to brainstorm. I (Keely) just started playing some racquetball a few weeks ago after taking the last 8+ or so years off from the sport. I do miss it and the amazing friends I met through this great sport. Let me know your thoughts on it. Yeah or nah?
UPDATE: We are sad to announce that we will NOT be hosting the 5th Annual Ektelon Texas Open Pro/Am this fall, 2013 in the DFW metroplex. Due to lack of funding needed to host the event as well as other family and work commitments this summer that we have to attend to, we do not have the time or resources to be able to host the Texas Open this fall. If we are able to pull resources needed together to host the tournament in the Spring of 2014 then we will attempt to host the tourney in the DFW in late spring, otherwise we will work towards trying to bring the Texas Open back to Dallas in the late summer/early fall of 2014. We sincerely appreciate the support of our title sponsor the last 4 years, Ektelon, along with all of our valued sponsors, volunteers and players who have made this tournament possible. We have received a ton of positive feedback and encouragement and really hope to be able to bring the event back in the future but will need your help to make that happen. We wish everyone a safe and healthy summer and hope to see everyone on the court again soon! Thank you again for your support and let's work together to bring the Texas Open back. Sincerely, Keely & Mike

Hello Racquetball Players and Fans... I know I have been getting a lot of questions about whether or not the Texas Open will take place again this next racquetball season as well as when and where, etc. As you know, putting together a tournament like this takes a lot of time and funds to run which is not easy, especially in today's economy... Thankfully with the help of my friends and family and people who have stepped up to sponsor the previous events, we have had 4 successful events and have received a ton of positive feedback which at the end of the day is encouraging and means a lot to us. Each year it has been really tough to try and raise the funds needed to run a Tier 1 Women's Pro stop and amateur tournament. We cannot run this tournament without the help of sponsors, friends, family and the players participation... I have been putting a lot of though and prayers into whether or not we can commit again to hosting another tournament and will make a final decision this week so that those who need to make their travel arrangements or preparations with their work schedules, etc will be able to start making those arrangements if we are able to pull this off. So as soon as a final decision either way is made this week I will post it on this page as well as update the www.texasopenproam.com website with information. If you are able to help us out in any way, please contact me (Keely) or my dad at [email protected]. We are considering moving the tournament to a different facility which would have more courts, but we are in the process of negotiations and determining dates and details on that... But I will let you know the details once the final decision is made... as far as timing, we would need to host the tournament at the end of August/early September or would need to push the event back to the Spring due to my work schedule and availability. Thank you to all of you who have supported our previous 4 tournaments and who continue to encourage us to host our 5th Annual tournament. We love racquetball, we love hosting a top quality tournament in Texas and we enjoy supporting the LPRT and watching the best women racquetball players from all over the world competing. If you want the Texas Open to continue, we need your support in any way... let us know if you can help and if you have any ideas, feedback, suggestions... we welcome it all! Thanks! Awesome! Coverage from the Dallas Morning News for the upcoming Texas Open Racquetball Pro/Am this weekend at the Landmark Club! Very cool! Check it out!
Big racquetball tournament takes place in Dallas this weekend After my badminton-and-horseshoes class at Camp Tres Rios failed to land me a bid for field-day competition, I stopped playing racket games. But I love that my sisters play tennis, and I tend to stop my gym workouts (yeah, any excuse) to watch, however briefly, the people playing racquetball. ...
