Chloe is a dog I rescued from going to the pound and recently had surgery to remove a mammary gland carcinoma. and treats too of course!!
She is the sweetest girl you will ever meet... only wants constant love and attention.. Chloe was a rescue dog. She was going to be taken to the pound, where she would have been put down if I hadn't gone and got her. Little did I know what a big part of my life, and my 80 year old dad's life, she would become! Chloe hasn't always had an easy life. From my understanding, she started out on the stre
ets of California where she was taken in. The man that took her in, lost his apartment, so he left her locked in the apartment alone with bowls of food and water where she was later found. She was taken in by another gentleman by the name of Matt, and brought to Texas. While Chloe was with him, she was hit by a car and he right rear leg was hurt. But Matt and his mom got her well again. Chloe still has a little trouble with her leg, but for the most part it's ok. Unfortunately Matt had to move to Arkansas, and was unable to take her. He left her on a ranch with friends, and paid them to take care of her. A month or so later they decided they were going to take her to the pound if he didn't find a home for her. Calling all the shelters in the area, he knew she was going to be put down. This is the point I came into her life...
I had lost my rednose pittie a month before.. and my life was so very empty... I didn't know if I even wanted another dog after the loss of my Babygirl... but Chloe showed me different. After talking to Matt, and him pleading for me to save this wonderful girl, I decided at the very least I would go get her and find her a new home. So I drove an hour and a half to pick her up... she came right up to me when i stepped out of my car... she looked so thin... she had been extremely neglected and just about starved. You could see she hadn't been taken care of properly in that month or so she had been there. I opened the back door of my car and she jumped right in for the car ride to what became her new home. She took to me and Dad right away.... what i didn't realize at the time, was that his dog was going to give me an extended family of sorts. Matt and his mom Nancy keep up with her through my page.... And Nancy has even come to visit Chloe since she's been with me! Chloe still loves her grandma too... was real happy to see her! Since being with us, Chloe has thrived.. put on weight and is so spoiled it's unbelievable! But understand, she has spoiled me and Dad too! She loves the neighbors kids, and when she is outside playing with them, shes watching the surroundings, protecting them. Now Chloe has been diagnosed with mammary gland carcinoma. She has a tumor that needs to be removed ASAP to save her life before it continues to grow and spread to her longs and heart. She has started to lose her hair and develop other skin conditions that could be associated with her cancer. I have started a chipinn link to help raise the money for her surgery. The goal is to raise $1345. We are now sitting at just under $1100 so I have scheduled her surgery for Tuesday 1.15.13 in hopes that enough people will donate the remainder needed in time for her surgery on the 15th.
