The Artists Against the Wall billboard will be living for a while. We are privileged to share this collective work with our community as the fight against the wall rages on. We want it to not only reflect the struggle as it grows, shrinks, and transforms, to recognize all the animals, plants, and people who would be negatively impacted by the wall, but also to honor the strength and perseverance of those who are devoted to keeping the wall at bay. Stay tuned for more upcoming opportunities to contribute to this living work in progress. Credit goes to Josh Keenan and for building and moving the incredible canvas!

“Guardiana del Vórtice/Portrait of Krystl” oil on mixed media, 2025. Krystl is a fierce guardian of her own inner spiritual vortex, which seamlessly flows into her work as a healer/guardian of the people and spirits of the Big Bend.
If you’d like to commission a portrait, DM me or contact me via my website link in bio.

I was sooo nervous when I started my residency at , but after a couple days of pacing around my casita, I began to let the desert order me around. Anytime I wanted to rush or rip up all my work, get n**e and gnaw on pastels like a rabid coyote, the desert, which was infinitely expanding in every direction, pushed its spaciousness into my hands and forced me to pause. When you’re surrounded by a stunning, ever-changing landscape of sky over mountains over ocotillo forest, you simply cannot rush. The concept is foreign there. And when you’re surrounded by brilliant artists who know what it’s like to be nervous or toil endlessly on something you are feeling called to create, you simply cannot second guess yourself any longer. You keep going, letting meaning or beauty seep in rather than chasing it, because it is naturally all around. 🖼️
