I got to hang out with Leo today at his shop! If you’re unaware Leo runs and is pretty much the last word in building top shelf reproductions the guitars of Jerry Garcia. It was a real treat. Thanks for the tour brother!
I’m a little late for Valentine’s Day, but how about this banger of you wanna spice up the JGB set?

Remember that classic ‘03 ALCS game 7 when Pedro talked Grady Little into keeping him in and then blowing the lead? YEA, ME EITHER! LOL
I was seeing Weir at the Electric Factory when it was supremely uncool to do so. The only thing I can recall from that night was the crowd singing (back to Bobby) the high harmony (Jerry’s part) on the chorus of Masterpiece. And the Sox got ‘em in ‘04 so all is well that ends well.
I was, and am a Jerry guy through and through but I’m finding it hard to find closure with Bobby. To me, he seem’d to be slowly going out of his mind after the loss of Garcia, -the tempo thing, the beard, kind of bellying up to the bar and taking over the Jerry songs as if he’d sort of lusted over them himself all this time- but then, he magically found John Mayer of all people, and kind of found the light again.
I got divorced in 2022 and it was the Grateful Dead’s music that kind of rebounded me. That summer at the Dead and Co show, towards the end of the second set, Weir did Days Between. It was astonishing because it was like it was his song all along. Something about that man in his 70’s singing this forlorn ballad that his long dead bandmate used to do, but doing it as an actual old man, looking back, making it better. Man, it absolutely floored me.
So rest easy Bobby. We sure will miss you.

A day late but better than never. 30 years ago wow. Cheers to any other old heads who braved that hellish blizzard on the North Way treckin’ it to Albany for the greatest YEM of them all.

We lost Morgan on Thanksgiving Weekend in 2021. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him. Call, hug, or high five your people when you can, because nothing is forever. ⚡️🖤
