When you start looking at your day as opportunities to bless anyone who crosses your path, you start to look at your day differently.

Current culture says to be selfish with your time. To an extent this is true, but I believe it stems from the root problem that we are simply undisciplined with our time. When you are disciplined with your time, it allows you to free yourself up to be more generous with your time to others. It will bless you tenfold.

Through much trial and error, I’ve learned that this is the only way to to run a truly effective business. The amazing thing is - when you let God lead, you are relinquishing control, and you will be led in a way that is so much greater than you could have ever gone yourself.

I’ve ran two different types of businesses over the last 6 years. One where I was taught to be obsessed at making as much as possible, and I did make great money, and I ultimately felt miserable because all I cared about was the numbers. The second is what I do now, a well rounded business where it improves the other areas of my life as well. We have GOT to help business owners to see their success as multifaceted.

How are your finances? Yes, this is a huge part.

-But, how are your relationships in your life and within the business?
-How are your relationships at home? -Does your home have an environment that you are proud of?
- How is your faith? Your fitness level?

I’m telling ya, I have had to learn how to become more well-rounded as a business owner over the last six years, and I’m still working on it! And I always will be… I just want to help as many people as I can to actually LOVE their business and not hate it after five years. We have got to look at more than just a simple financial metric that even a young child could understand.

Just some daily thoughts…

I once completely deleted an audible business book from my library JUST three chapters in. I wanted to hear what the author had to say…

Until he got to the part about the importance of being selfish in the growth period and building the business at ALL costs.

No thanks, buddy. I think you got it all wrong.

He talked about sacrificing time with his daughter and that he “got it back” when he became wealthy.

Nah I’m good there, bud.

He talked about sacrificing time with his wife but now they have time together.

Yea no thanks, man.

You see, I think most business owners, while coming from a good place, get this wrong.

The reality is - if you keep your priorities in place while building your business, you will grow it and be successful with no regrets.

For me? I’ll take off on a Friday, reschedule clients, to fly to Midland with my son for us to get time with my brothers and Hudson’s cousins.

Don’t fall prey to the worldly advice put out there by some.

It’s foolish.

You can grow a very successful business AND keep your priorities in place.

In fact, one of my successful clients just texted me last night and said “Hey, I know we have a coaching call in the morning, but I need to cancel because going skiing with my husband is a priority”

She has learned to set her priorities straight. That is EXACTLY how it’s done.
