Skvare
Skvare is an established team of website and CiviCRM experts. We are techie geeks at heart. Some would call us very square, though with some quirks.
Skvare (pronounced "square") is a team of CMS (Drupal), CRM (CiviCRM), and Learning Management (Drupal-based LMS & LRS) experts that specialize in building online presence, community management, and online learning tools for non-profit organizations, professional societies, membership-driven associations, and educational institutions. Square and uneven.

Managing programs across multiple regions requires more than shared access.
For the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, we built a federated system that supports membership, training, funding, and reporting across seven Regional Medical Libraries.
The result is clearer governance, stronger privacy controls, and measurable program impact.

CiviCRM scheduled jobs handle a lot of critical work — sending renewal notices, processing donations, importing data, generating receipts.
When one fails, nothing announces it. The job just stops. By the time someone notices, members haven't received emails, receipts are missing, and your team is scrambling to figure out what broke and when.
We built the Job Status Checker extension to catch that before it becomes a problem. It monitors your scheduled jobs every 24 hours and sends an alert — by email or right in the CiviCRM UI — the moment something goes wrong.
Catch the problem before your constituents do.

Here's a question worth asking about your membership website: what does a non-member see when they visit your member benefits page?
For most organizations, the answer is either nothing — or everything, with no reason to join.
For AACT, we built something in between. Non-members can browse the full list of discount programs and partner benefits. But the instructions for actually accessing each benefit? Those are for members only. When someone clicks to learn more, they land on a join page instead.
It's a small design decision with a real conversion impact. And because it's connected to CiviCRM membership data, it updates automatically when someone joins or renews.

Here's a quick accessibility check: how many H1 tags does your website use per page?
If the answer is more than one — or if your team uses heading tags because they make text look bigger — your site structure may be creating barriers for people who use screen readers, voice control, or keyboard navigation.
Header tags are how assistive technology users navigate a page. A properly structured page lets them jump directly to the section they need. A poorly structured one forces them to read everything from the top.
We wrote a plain-language guide explaining how header tags work, why they matter, and what good structure actually looks like. Worth a read if you're responsible for any web content.

When you're delivering meals to homebound neighbors every day, the last thing your team needs is extra administrative work.
Kitchen Angels was managing donations through third-party tools and manually entering records into a separate CRM. We migrated their donor database into WordPress, connected everything, and replaced Constant Contact with CiviMail — all in one project.
Now donations track automatically, emails go out from the same system, and staff can update the site without calling for help. Less time on data entry. More time on the mission.

Managing public health grants across multiple regions is complicated. Different funders want different reports. Member libraries have different needs. Data ends up scattered across spreadsheets and disconnected systems.
That was the challenge for the Network of the National Library of Medicine. NNLM supports libraries and community health partners across the country — and they needed a way to track grant activity, manage member data, and report to funders without constant manual work.
We built a unified open-source platform using Drupal and CiviCRM. Now NNLM's team can see activity across every region in one place, run funder-specific reports without extra steps, and keep member data accurate without duplication. When your systems are connected, the work gets easier.

Here's something we hear a lot from nonprofit teams:
"We have the data. We just don't have time to dig through it."
That's usually not a time problem. It's a systems problem.
When reporting requires manual exports, spreadsheet cleanup, and a separate tool just to see a summary — your team will avoid it. And when they avoid it, decisions get made on instinct instead of information.
The fix isn't more data. It's better access to the data you already have.
We help organizations build reporting directly into their platforms — so the right numbers are visible to the right people without extra work.

One of the most common things we hear from new clients is some version of this:
"We weren't sure who was responsible for keeping things updated."
It's more common than it should be. A website gets launched, the project ends, and ongoing maintenance falls through the cracks. Updates don't get applied. Nobody's watching performance. Something eventually breaks at the worst possible time.
We take that off your plate entirely. Our team monitors, updates, and maintains your environment so you're not scrambling when something goes wrong.
If you're not sure what's being handled on your current site, we're happy to take a look.

Here's something we've learned after 17 years of building systems for mission-driven organizations.
The hardest part of most projects isn't the technical work. It's figuring out exactly what needs to be built and why.
Before we write a single line of code, we spend time understanding how your team actually works. What's breaking. What workarounds exist. What the people using the system every day wish it could do.
That work shapes everything that comes after. And it's usually the reason projects land where they should.
If you're thinking about a new system or a major upgrade, we're happy to start with the questions.
Business Analysis for Mission-Driven Organizations The right technology can transform your organization, but only if it’s designed around your needs and goals. We take the time to understand your organization, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate your vision into a clear plan.

How do you keep infrastructure consistent across servers?
In this article we walk through a simple automation pattern using Git and Ansible Pull.
Instead of pushing configuration changes manually, servers check the repository and update automatically when a commit changes.
This helps reduce configuration drift and keeps environments aligned.

Hospitals rely on accurate reporting to measure safety and quality.
For The Leapfrog Group, we helped build a secure open source platform that supports hospital safety surveys while giving the organization full ownership of its data.
The platform integrates Drupal, CiviCRM, and LimeSurvey to manage workflows, track activity, and generate reports.
