Empower One
Reaching the unreached in the hard places of Africa - by training local leaders to plant churches. South Sudan 🇸🇸 Sudan 🇸🇩 DR Congo 🇨🇩 We’re changing that.
An estimated 3 billion people are living without access to the gospel. This means that for generations, families have remained trapped in darkness—without hope and peace. By equipping and mobilizing local leaders, Empower One church planters are taking the gospel back into their own neighborhoods and surrounding communities—where they’re better missionaries than we could ever be. It’s within this

Meet Clement. ☀️
For years, Clement “served the Lord in ignorance”. He was a leader in a local church, but it was empty, and he didn’t know the Lord.
In 2014, he fell back into drunkenness and witchcraft. It caused deep suffering for his family, and some of his children faced difficult paths.
Clement shared that he had lost all hope.
Then he met Isaac, a mission leader in Yei, South Sudan. Isaac invited him to a Sunday fellowship.
Today, Clement has given his life to Christ, is being discipled, and has newfound hope – for this life and eternity.
🙏 Pray for Clement and his family, and for more stories like his around Northeast Africa.

The church in Mvolo is a picture of how training one church planter can start a movement. 🌊
Pastor Noah is from Mvolo, South Sudan.
Ten years ago, Empower One opened a DTI training center in Maridi – about 130 miles away. Noah enrolled there to study doctrine, discipleship, and church planting.
After his training, he returned home and planted First Baptist Church Mvolo.
FBC Mvolo has been an incredible picture of multiplication – serving, making disciples, and planting churches like Doamiri Baptist Church (pictured).
Today, 30 students are being trained at the DTI in Mvolo, and some are going on to continue their training at NEATS.
The next Flagship Church will be built there to strengthen the multiplication that is already happening in Mvolo.
Thank you for praying for God to move in Northeast Africa.
💬 Help us spread the word by sharing with someone who would be encouraged with this story!

Flagship Water System Update! 💧
The water tower in Gurei is complete, and the towers in Mvolo and Yambio are under way!
These clean water systems help reduce waterborne illness, which is a leading cause of death in South Sudan.
As people come for clean water, they have the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
They also help bring in a small income stream for the churches, to help them strengthen and support their ministry.
Thank you for praying and giving to help make change like this possible!

We talk a lot about Flagship Churches – but what are they, and what do they do?
These churches are church-planting multiplication centers that aim to plant 50 churches every year until Jesus comes back.
💊 Each one has a pharmacy, school, and clean water system to serve the community, build trust, and strengthen the local church.
📻 Radio stations help extend the reach of the gospel where travel is often long and difficult.
📚 And Discipleship Training Institutes, extension centers of our seminary in South Sudan, equip future leaders with training in Christian doctrine, disciple-making, and church planting.
And this is all to build strong, self-sustaining churches in Northeast Africa that will:
⛪ plant more churches
🕊️and reach unreached communities in some of the hardest places in Africa
Follow along to hear more stories and impact from these church multiplication centers, and how you can be part of the vision.

Pastor Ahoch planted this church in the D**g area of Maluth in South Sudan.
This church is a picture of how the Gospel moves forward in remote and underreached areas: a church planter gathering a group of people to worship, pray, and study Scripture together.
Their faith and fellowship can grow into a movement that reaches an entire community with the hope of Christ.
Maluth also has opportunities to minister to families and refugees affected by conflict and displacement in Sudan.
Pastors in this area have asked us to pray for this church, for Pastor Ahoch, and for the surrounding community to be reached with the Gospel.
“They are spreading the true doctrine of Christ Jesus, and this is so powerful in our community.” – Francis, DTI Administrator in DR Congo
These DTI centers in the DRC are training a total of 49 students to know the Bible and true doctrine, and equip them for ministry.
They’ll be sent out to plant churches in the surrounding communities and proclaim the truth of the gospel.
Francis Jariekonga leads the administration of the DTIs in the DR Congo. DTIs are satellite campuses of our seminary, NEATS, that offer ministry training and Bible classes in the local language.
When you pray for and give to Empower One, you’re supporting ministries like Francis’ and the students he’s leading: equipping and sending missionaries to spread the gospel where it’s not clearly known.
Thank you. 💛

In many ways, women are the backbone of the church in Northeast Africa.
Recently, 102 women gathered in the DR Congo for a women’s conference.
They worshiped together.
They studied Scripture together.
They prayed for and encouraged one another.
Moments like these strengthen their faith, their families, and their entire communities.
We are so grateful for these incredible women and how they are shaping their families through faith.
Will you join us in praying for them as they return home to live out what they’ve learned?

What started 20 years ago as a meeting under a tree has grown into a flourishing church community – and so much more. 🌱
Last May, we celebrated the dedication of the Flagship Church in Kajo Keji. Thousands of people gathered from all over to witness how God is moving in the world’s newest country.
But the church at Kajo Keji knows that these blessings aren’t meant to stay in one place. They have a vision to take the gospel farther.
They’re planting churches across their county, throughout the state, and beyond.
We’re so grateful for what God is doing through them. Will you join us in praying for First Baptist Church Kajo Keji, and the new churches they are planting?
Your support helps plant churches and equip leaders so this work can continue throughout Northeast Africa.

This month, we’re praying for perseverance.
The Northeast African church lives this out daily: steadfast in faith and dependent on God in every season.
Seeds are being planted. Hope is taking root.
God is present and at work among His people.
We invite you to stand with us in prayer for our teams, the communities we serve, and every life that is being shaped by God’s faithfulness.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9
Youth & young adults worshiping in Gurei, South Sudan 🙌
They gathered at Glory Baptist Church for a conference with the theme “We Want to Know You”.
It was a powerful time of worship and teaching as they sought the Lord together.
▶️ Press play to hear them worshiping!
Pray for them and their generation as they grow in their faith and follow Jesus.
