Reaching the unreached in the hard places of Africa - by training local leaders to plant churches. South Sudan 🇸🇸 Sudan 🇸🇩 DR Congo 🇨🇩 We’re changing that.

An estimated 3 billion people are living without access to the gospel. This means that for generations, families have remained trapped in darkness—without hope and peace. By equipping and mobilizing local leaders, Empower One church planters are taking the gospel back into their own neighborhoods and surrounding communities—where they’re better missionaries than we could ever be. It’s within this

“When you train a child, you win that child for generations.” – Pastor David Kaya

Why are schools such an important part of Vision 2032?
Hear from Pastor Kaya as he explains the heart behind schools and how they make a difference for Christ in South Sudan.

A statistic can tell you a lot about something.
A story can change how you see it.

In South Sudan, 64% of children never have the opportunity to enroll in school.

But behind that number are children with names, stories, gifts to discover, and futures worth investing in.

South Sudan is a young nation still rebuilding after decades of conflict. Many communities are still without infrastructure and resources needed for children to receive quality education.

It’s part of Vision 2032: every Flagship Church will have a school.

Because the numbers matter. And the students matter even more.

God is powerful, and that means we can dream big for the sake of the gospel.

Hear from Abiggo Manson Lubang, the E1 Africa Director of Operations, as he shares how he hopes to see God move in the years ahead.

The vision hasn’t changed. It’s multiplication: healthy churches raising up leaders who plant more churches.

We’ve seen God do incredible things, and He is still at work.
Would you join us in praying for what’s ahead?

Joyful worship at the women’s conference in Malakal! 🧡

These women came together under the women’s ministry leaders to encourage one another, grow in faith, and learn from each other.

What a beautiful picture of what God is building: women growing in faith, encouraging one another, and being equipped to serve and lead.

We hope you’re encouraged by their joy as they praise the Lord – we sure are! 🙌

God is at work in the Women’s Ministry, and we can’t wait to see what He does next!

You may have noticed some updates to our profile lately… we are celebrating 20 years of Empower One! 🎉

This week marks 20 years since Mike’s first trip to Rumbek, South Sudan (then, still Sudan). Hear some of his reflections, 20 years later.

God has been beyond amazing to walk with these 20 years. And God has used your prayers, your giving, and your coming over to make all this possible.

Thank you for standing with us. đź’›

A glimpse of ministry in the Upper Nile, South Sudan. 🌅

The Flagship Church in Malakal has planted churches throughout the state.

They are faithfully making disciples, hosting women’s conferences, preaching and teaching God’s Word, and gathering to pray and seek God’s direction.

Please pray with us for the churches across Upper Nile State, for Pastor John and those he is shepherding, and for continued strength and wisdom as local leaders share the hope of Christ.

We’re thankful for every pastor, every church, every partner, and every prayer that makes this ministry possible.

The community where “A” grew up is hostile to Christians, but after following Jesus, he is determined to stay with them and tell them about the gospel.

He sits with them and cares for them in the midst of suffering.

When the opportunity comes, he tells them about Jesus.

In his town, there are now many believers waiting to be baptized – in a place where public profession of faith in Christ is dangerous.

They are being discipled and joining him in ministry.

“I really want to support these people. Some are vulnerable, especially the young children.” – A

Please pray with us for “A”: for him, his family, and their safety; the believers he is shepherding; and the unreached in his community to hear about Jesus.

You can help support the work of “A” and missionaries like him: https://empower-one.org/give

This month, would you pray with us for schools and students in Northeast Africa?

Education opens doors. It creates opportunities for children to learn, grow, and one day provide for their families.

We’re praying that young people will receive an education, and become faithful disciples, leaders, business owners, pastors, and parents who will shape their communities for Christ.

Pray with us for:
✏️ Open doors for outreach to schools, that students would hear the gospel and follow Jesus
✏️ More boys and girls to have the opportunity to go to school
✏️ Families, especially mothers, working to provide school fees for their children
✏️ Provision of the means to establish and strengthen schools
✏️ Teachers and school staff working in schools
✏️ A generation of students equipped to serve Christ and build their communities through their faith and education

Thank you for standing with the African Church, and future generations, in prayer.

Taking some time today to be grateful for the pastors and leaders who are serving faithfully in their communities. 🌍 These pictured are some of the many God has raised up.

These men and women are the real deal. It's a privilege to serve with them, learn from them, and watch them in action.

We want to invite you to pray for them: for their strength in the Lord, for their families, and for God's guidance in their work for His glory.

This team’s message started in Malakal, South Sudan, and traveled to homes hundreds of miles away.

Here, they are preaching from Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Radio is part of daily life in South Sudan, which makes it a simple and powerful way to reach communities that are otherwise difficult to access.

Your support helps bring the hope of the gospel to homes across South Sudan. Thank you for being part of these stories. 🧡
