This work, Map of My Mind, has recently gone viral on Pinterest and inspired me to repost it. Created in 2018, it was a particularly meaningful piece for me. While simple in intention, a charcoal map of my mind and the energetic field around me, it was made after nearly an hour of meditation. I often feel drawn to exploring my own inner landscape as a way to inform my work, and this feels like a concept worth revisiting. I really loved this series and was excited by the idea of creating the work under different mental states. It was hard to explain what I was trying to do in the early years of my career but now in the future it feels feasible. ➰

This work resonates with me in a way that feels both personal and precise.

🟥

The strong mark making and the shimmer of sand catching the light mirror the tension and softness in my own temperament. Though abstraction can sometimes feel kitschy, forced or unoriginal, creating this piece felt instinctive and unguarded. There is a sincere intention of power and pull towards landscape that moves me when creating these works.

These pieces also feel like early markers of a direction of work I’m moving towards creating over the next few months. They are evolving, and that evolution excites me.

Honored to have my work in Dallas’ beautiful new Mediterranean restaurant, .
“Cyan Sun” now lives in the Lapis Room.

Huge thank you to for bringing me onto this project! It’s the perfect environment for this piece. The food, the space, the energy… all 10/10.

Loved celebrating with everyone last night. Babbel officially opens November 28th!
