Every day he comes to our backyard. Sometimes the feathers on the top of his head stand up like a sassy red mohawk.

Today he stood right in front of our door and peered in at me and the dog on the couch.

I don’t care how cold and ugly things can seem. There’s always beauty and interest in nature.

And yes, I talk to him. But he never answers.
