A creative collaboration was formed between Steve Utley, Partner, S-SQUARED Creative, Plano, TX and GRAMMY® nominated and award-winning music producer Carlos “Six July” Broady, Memphis, TN. Steve wrote the lyrics for the song, wanting to apply his creativity in a different form of media he had never worked with before and Carlos’ motivation was as always, to follow his lifelong passion to create new and unique music. Produced in Memphis Tennessee, the concept behind the song’s lyrics shows how pervasive Facebook and social media has become in different facets of society, including the virtual dating scene. The song incorporates a mix of old school Hip-Hop/Rap and enhanced by Memphis Hip-Hop vocalist “Chozen.”

Photo Series: Saint Lucia
Model: Various
Location: Various

Sherrina Peters and I traveled to Saint Lucia and quickly realized the special nature of the people and the images we were capturing. Saint Lucia is a sovereign island country in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique.

DeBoulle Personification Ad Campaign. 01/16/2015

In the world of advertising and branding, some of the better concept approaches don’t make the cut and are relegated to being placed into a folder in a digital graveyard. I created this advertising campaign direction for DeBoulle Diamond & Jewelry a few years back and inadvertently came across the other day on my computer. I thought that I would resurrect it and share it with you.

Abacus Ad Campaign Concepts 01/15/2015

I met with my client Kent Rathbun Concepts last week and was given a nice complement from Kent. He mentioned the advertising campaign concepts I created for Abacus were the best that’s ever been presented to him. With this being said, I though that I would share them with you. I created advertising for both Jasper’s and Abacus...fun stuff.

One of my favorite television spots of all time and one of the most expensive ad ever made.

For $20 million, this is the most expensive advertisements produced and not because of some highest paid model flashing a million dollar smile or hour glass figure. In fact the ad features hundreds of villagers who have no clue about acting or film making. However latest in the series of ‘Good Things Come to Those Who Wait’ ads, ‘Tipping Point’ got honored for being the most expensive and complex Guinness ad to be produced. The ad sees hundreds of villagers come together to create the ultimate domino effect, featuring 6,000 iconic black and white dominoes, alongside thousands of unexpected toppling objects, include suitcases, oil drums, fridges and cars. Directed by Nicolai Fuglsig of Sony Bravia ‘Balls’ fame, he said that shooting the new Guinness ad was the biggest challenge of his career yet. You have to see it thru to believe that the toppling items included 6,000 dominoes, 10,000 books, 400 tires, 75 mirrors, 50 fridges, 45 wardrobes and 6 cars...Granted this ad was one of the most expensive ads ever produced. I work with branding companies and budgets of all sizes. If you need solid creativity I’d like to chat with you.
