This is why I left organized hospice to start Park Cities Healthcare, and why it is crucial to have us involved alongside or in place or organized hospice as the Medicare benefit does not provide the caregiving service, and its a stunning realization as the hospice nurse leaves the family alone with their dying loved one...they are expected to do the care themselves, and while they may be fully capable, it is often just too much for them to handle.
