Some dogs find their way to rescue in unusual ways, and Skynyrd is no exception. This handsome Great Pyrenees mix showed up at TBC hoping to win over a girl named Pretty Girl. While her love story ended with a spay appointment, Skynyrd decided he liked it here ! They are now sweet friends!

At just 1 year and 8 months old, this sweet boy is ready to headline his own happily-ever-after. Despite being neglected and underweight when he arrived, Skynyrd never lost his gentle spirit. Now he’s healthy, thriving, and proving to be an absolute superstar.

We were recently awarded a grant that will allow us to provide spay & neuter services across 14 counties:

Tarrant, Dallas, Parker, Johnson, Ellis, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Hunt, Rockwall, Collin, Henderson, Denton, Wise, and Smith

This is going to be a massive undertaking — and an opportunity to make a real, lasting impact in our communities.

But we can’t do it alone.
This will truly take all hands on deck — and we need some really good hands. ❤️

As we expand this life-saving program, we are actively looking for volunteers to help make this possible.

🐾 Remote Records & Administrative Help Needed
If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and want to help animals from home, we desperately need help with:
• Medical and spay/neuter records
• Data entry and organization
• Scheduling and communication support
• Keeping rescue paperwork accurate and up to date

This role can be done remotely from anywhere and is one of the most important ways to support this mission.

🏡 Fosters Needed Across DFW and within a 2 hour radius of DFW
We are also in urgent need of cat (and some dog) fosters throughout the DFW area. Fosters are the backbone of rescue and allow us to save more animals while they wait for adoption or medical care.

Whether you can help from your couch, your computer, or your spare room — you can be part of the impact.

Sunshine & L.G. 🐕 - Two unlikely adoptions that recently became possible.

Sunshine spent five of her nine years with us. Though beautiful and deeply loved, she had special behavioral needs due to her snappy tendencies. L.G., equally beautiful, arrived as a feral adult and made only modest progress over the past nine years. The two became devoted companions, living side by side.

Neither could be placed in a home with children, and we feared only a very special family would be willing to welcome these senior animals with unique needs. Then, something extraordinary happened.

An exceptional couple came to meet L.G. and unexpectedly fell in love with Sunshine as well. Fully understanding their behavioral challenges, Mr. and Mrs. Hall—seniors themselves—opened their hearts and home to both of them, committing to give them the love, patience, and care they deserve.

We once thought this day might never come for these two special-needs seniors, and we remain deeply encouraged and profoundly grateful. There was not a dry eye in the house.

There are only three Days left to make a difference for the vulnerable dogs depending on Texas Best Choices Animal Rescue.

Any donation supports animals like Sunshine and L.G., as well as our sanctuary residents, highly adoptable dogs, abandoned animals left at our gate, and those still waiting for rescue.

Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. At TBC Animal Rescue, we are forever grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of our military heroes and their families.
