Dear Pennies & Pens,
So I am now a legal hustler.
Also known as a full time Entrepreneur.
On Friday, I did something truly amazing.
I paid my rent.
Between book sales, T-shirt sales and client work as well as driving for UberEats, I was able to pay my $1100 rent.
I usually don't tell people how much rent is because I don't like people in my pockets like that. ๐ค
But in this case the fact that I somehow got ALL my bills paid for the month of September and did so without a paycheck is truly phenomenal.
This is a milestone that must be celebrated.
Show ya girl some love in the comments so you don't get blocked on October 1st. ๐๐ฟ๐ค๐ฅฐ๐คฏ๐ท๐ค๐ค๐คซ๐คฉ

Dear Pennies & Pens,
Happy Friday!
First off, thank you so much to those who support me, my business and my brand .
Without your support, I couldn't keep this page running.
However, in preparation for October 1, 2021 I've got to let some people go.
It's the FABs.
What does that mean?
Well, FABs are Fake.Ass.Bitches according to Jojo.
And somehow, I've collected way too many.
Too many people don't follow my business account ISLP, The InkSpot, LLC] and brand account
Too many people don't engage with my FEED posts meaning they never like or comment.
Too many people watch an Instagram story and never respond with an emoji or words of support.
So they gotta go.
I'm blocking people as we speak.
If people aren't going to publicly support my work then it's bye Felicia.
Thank you and have a fabulous Friday!

Dear Pennies & Pens,
First and foremost, I ink the page for my family.
As a third generation Black American Entrepreneur, my family inspired me to start a business.
My grandfather was a successful entrepreneur and Farmer with over 100 acres of land and my father has had his own business for the past 38 years.
Additionally, my Aunt owned a hair salon for years and my cousin and BFF has his own business.
Everyday, my family encourages me by supporting me and my business.
My family purchases my products, engages on social media and checks in via phone and text to see how Iโm doing.
They keep me grounded during these questionable times that have made having a business even more difficult.
Furthermore, I ink the page for my nieces and nephews.
I want to show them that they can ink the life theyโve always wanted by having their own business.
I want them to know that they are powerful and strong without any limitations.
Lastly, I ink the page to inspire and empower multicultural people (Black American, African, Latino/a, Asian, LGBTQ+) to ink the life theyโve always wanted.
I want people who donโt even know me to feel inspired by my work and empowered to create their own unique brand and business.

Dear Pennies & Pens,
As an elder millennial who remembers life before the innanet, I have always dreamed of having my own business.
As a child, I wanted to be a banker because I figured owning a bank would automatically make me rich.
However, as I got older I realized that I wanted more than just money.
I wanted to be able to ink the life Iโve always wanted.
I wanted to do something that made me feel powerful, intelligent and strong.
I also wanted freedom, the ability to make money when and how I want. Additionally, I wanted to inspire and empower others.
When I started ISLP in 2015, I did so by accident.
At the time, my goal was to publish my first book, not start a business.
However, when you self publish, you are starting a business whether you like it or not.
So over the years, I had to learn that if I donโt want to work full time in corporate America, then my business has to make money.
Those first few years, I was playing business, ISLP was really just an expensive hobby.

Dear Pennies & Pens,
On October 1, 2021, everything will be changing.
As an Entrepreneur, you have to be adaptable and ready to make major changes.
Part of this change is inspired by how toxic social media has become obsessing over likes, views and comments.
Like get this, one of my favorite K Pop groups is Mamamoo and right now some of their fans are boycotting their upcoming online concert because they don't like the fact that Mamamoo's agency RBW is going to post Mamamoo's videos on the agency's main channel.
So these fans are threatening to not buy tickets to the concert until the day before and have left countless negative comments across Mamamoo's social media accounts.
What a silly and petty thing to boycott.
People really get mad if you don't post content on a certain account?
People really care about how many views and likes someone else's post gets?
I can say all of this is true not just because of Mamamoo but because of my own experiences.
I have distinctly noticed how this acct which has more followers than my business ISLP, The InkSpot, LLC] and my brand PenniesandPens] gets more engagement and how some people just will not support the work of my business ISLP, The InkSpot, LLC] and brand PenniesandPens].
It's okay.
Those people aren't invited to the October 1st party.
Thanks for reading this long caption and have a fabulous day!

Dear Pennies & Pens,
Thank you to all those who have supported ISLP, The InkSpot, LLC!
Originally launched in 2015, ISLP, The InkSpot, LLC is a creative production company and multicultural creative agency based in Dallas.
We have published three books, designed a collection of organic cotton T-Shirts and worked with several clients to provide branding, marketing, public relations and more.
On October 1, 2021, we'll be embarking on a new era.
This era will be exclusive to those we hand select.
Meaning, the project won't be announced on social media.
This new era is reserved for our most loyal supporters. The ones who always like and comment on posts, the ones who share posts, the ones who purchase our products.
This era is about getting to know Pennies & Pens, and building a community of people who will engage with and support our brand.
The reality is, not everyone is meant to join you on your journey.
So we're only inviting those who love us to join us on this journey.
