Chancy
The most local band in the world. New single They Let Me out February 28th!
Forged from fire to breach the demons foyer and impeach inequity, CHANCY is an electronic rock band based in Dallas, Texas. A combination of lifelong as well as budding friendships, our mission is to spread love, peace, and joy through our music. An ancillary mission would probably be to beat our dear friend Travis with our sandals as many times as we can.

Chancy friends, followers, lovers, and haters. Hello! we feel like we owe you some exposition.
In the Spring of 2025, we all mutually decided to take some time away from Chancy, as attempts to move forward as a band without a full time drummer proved unfruitful.
A month turned into two turned into six and before you knew it, we made the difficult decision as both friends and as bandmates to officially enter a dreaded INDEFINITE HIATUS.
So what does that mean? It means our band of merry lads that have been playing, writing, and gigging together since c. 2017 are currently cryogenically frozen until the time comes that we are all in the right space to do music again together. We feel that our band was always made up of 5 distinct people and artists who when put together, made up more than the sum of their parts. Until the opportunity presents itself to do that again to the absolute best of our collective ability, our day to day band operations have ceased.
So, where can you hear from us again? We are glad you asked.
All of us will continue to make music in our respective other projects, and we will be posting updates on all our socials on how you can follow along!
BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. Today we have released an EP of 3 previously unreleased songs. Hopefully to tide you over until the time may come that we can be together again. its called “Organic Idiocy” something we all feel our world could use a lot more of these days. Our whole discography is also available to stream from now until the oceans dry up on all the platforms that let you listen to music.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you for following along and supporting our music all these years, and for your continued support of our big dumb dreams. We know the weight of our continued and unrelenting commitment to this project is something that was felt not just by us, but by our friends and family members. We thank you for your belief and support, and for putting up with us all these crazy years.
Until we meet again,
Austin, Alex, Cole, and Richard.

NEW SONG OUT NOW - THEY LET ME ⚡️
A wise computer once said: “Everything not saved will be lost”. We have all been there before. A period of stagnation between games or between books or whatever other media you enjoy to consume. You just finished something and you think, ok what’s next? You glance at your reading list, your Amazon cart, your wishlist. All long with thought out good intentions. But the motivation for something wholly new just doesn’t come. What’s this feeling? Overwhelmed, overstimulated, afraid perhaps? What if I get it and I don’t like it? What if I’m disappointed and end up regretting even starting? It’s that awkward pause that follows a raucous laughter. The moment suddenly feels too big for you.
So what do you do? You pull out an old game from years ago. You dust off a dog eared book you’ve already read. And you let it take you back to a time when your good faith and hard work were summarily rewarded. Maybe it takes you back to a time and place. You remember who came over the day you beat that game. You remember where you were and what you saw when you first looked up from finishing the last line of that book.
In our estimation, nostalgia is an overrated feeling. We aren’t trying to sell you back anything you’ve already bought, or reset a stream counter for clout and likability. We are merely giving you a save file. A one stop place where you can access the songs of a time and a place. All our singles from the last couple of years, ready for your listening pleasure in one convenient package.
And of course it wouldn’t be so special if not for something totally new and never before released. Saved from the pits of obscurity is our unreleased track “They Let Me”. An unapologetically funk rock saga with enough bouncing and bubbling synths and bass to make George Clinton blush.
We hope you enjoy a revisit to this moment and time. We appreciate your continued support, and we look onward to a new chapter!
Always because we care,
CHANCY
