I will always remember what happened 18 years ago today. I was a Junior in High School, I remember the class, the people I was with, the teacher pulling up the TV, and watching live the second plane hitting. I remember a national sense of disbelief that translated into all facets of our lives from restaurants to football games, even late night comedians didn’t perform. No matter our political affiliation, religion, or socioeconomic status we were all united. Never forget 9/11 and never forget the love and unity we had for our fellow Americans.

Today is America’s 243rd Birthday and her ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are still envied by many across the globe. This nation of immigrants is proof that diversity in culture, thoughts, and values is a catalyst for growth that has not been seen in any other nation. Happy Birthday America!
