The Candid Millennial was created to inspire, encourage and motivate millennial women in all areas of life. Mary Robb is the founder of this blog and is passionate about millennials. Her goal is to use this blog to share lifes ups & downs in a raw, real way that isn’t always displayed on the other squeaky clean Insta handles out there. After learning about the negative stereotypes that millennials are labeled with, Mary decided to address this issue head on. Through writing content about enhancing career, finding motivation and facing relationship issues, Mary hoped to connect with millennials who were not the stereotypical “entitled” or “lazy” type. In fall 2017, the blog took a slight turn to fashion. Scrolling through Instagram and seeing that most fashion bloggers are gorgeous and very skinny women, Mary saw a gap in the industry. What about the women who have shorter legs, a shorter torso and more junk in the trunk?! Some of the outfits she found through bloggers she was able to pull off, but others would make her look twice her size! So, to better address the needs and wants of her readers, she decided to add a new main focus to the blog: fashion! Today, each post has two main objectives: 1) to offer outfit ideas tailored to women who have an hourglass figure and 2) to display the life of a raw, real millennial. This includes careers, relationships, volunteering, travel, beauty and much more!
