Just an hour ago, a silly little miracle happened. For the last 4 nights, we had been hearing something that sounded like a duck under the house, especially at night. It remained an unsolved mystery.

Today at sunset, Dad brought over the new batch of Cinnamon Queen hens who were lightly chirping in their boxes.Suddenly, we heard a loud squawk from about 30 feet away. Then, appeared, running toward us and the boxes, a baby roadrunner? Aghast, we watched this little bird run toward us, and jump in the back of the van with the boxes. It was a very vocal little bantam hen. Who knows from whence she came?

So tonight we welcomed our 15 new chickens plus one. Silly delight! Will post photos in the light of day.
