The end of one season is always the start of another. With your high school graduation, we close the chapter of you as a boy and step into your season as a man.
It’s been a privilege to watch you grow and be part of your life. From YMCA soccer days, to Chipotle runs, to becoming an older brother, to working by my side… I’m proud of who you’ve become.
I’m looking forward to seeing you step into everything you’re capable of in this crazy world we live in.

Te recuerdo, sin falta, en cada momento en el cual mis hijos me llenan de orgullo. Aun te lloro y aun me acuerdo del ultimo gran abrazo de gol que te di. No quería dejar de mencionarte y de recordarte hoy, a dos años de tu partida. Te volviste estrellita muy rápido, pero ya nos veremos de vuelta. Un beso al cielo, papá.
Three years ago I walked away from the biggest sports franchise on the planet to pursue my own projects. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but one I had to take.
I never mentioned it publicly, but everyone I had the pleasure of working with showed up to my going-away party. At that moment, I didn’t have the words to describe what I felt. Seeing so many people wishing me the best was humbling.
But what came after was even harder.
No big franchise to back me up.
No perks.
No all access.
I had to pave my own way.
That season shaped me more than any before. It forced me to grow, to lead myself, to build something from scratch. I used to think I was just lucky, but with time I realized that good things happen when you recognize those windows of opportunity, take the shot, and keep showing up no matter what.
Nobody said it would be easy! Always be ready to punch today in the face and keep going.
