Students in Grand Prairie ISD’s My Camp 6 wrapped up their camp last week with the Amazing Shake competition! The Amazing Shake is a schoolwide experience inspired by The Ron Clark Academy, designed to build students’ confidence, professionalism, and communication skills through real-world, interactive challenges.

Over the course of the camp, students will practice essential life skills—including strong handshakes, eye contact, clear communication, and professional presence—through a series of structured, high-energy activities.

Amazing Shake Showcase Stations included:
1. First Impressions & Foundations Focus
2. The Big Box Store challenge
3. Speaking & Thinking on Your Feet
4. Press Conference
5. Pep Talk: Students will create and deliver a short motivational speech.
6. Commercial
7. Focus: Confidence, teamwork, and presentation skills. Dinner Party Etiquette
8. Fashion Show

By the end of the experience, students should feel more confident in how they present themselves, communicate effectively, and navigate real-world situations.

Register now for Pre-K in GPISD!
Pre-K in Grand Prairie ISD is a great place for students to explore and learn in engaging activities. GPISD is proud to say that students who have attended Pre-K in GPISD are nearly 3 times more likely to be ready for Kindergarten than those who do not.

GPISD is an open-enrollment district that is All in for All Kids! If your child turns 3 or 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, we invite you to begin the Pre-K registration process in GPISD. Visit https://www.gpisd.org/prek to get started on the registration process!

Summer meals for children ages 1 to 18 and enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 are happening at 5 of Grand Prairie ISD’s campuses this summer. What’s even better is that these meals are NOT exclusive to Grand Prairie residents; all are welcome to visit one of the campuses listed below, Monday - Friday (All meals must be consumed on-site in our cafeterias, and students must be present to receive a meal; no to-go or curbside meals.)

The campuses and meal serving times are below:
Bill Arnold Middle School: 1204 E Marshall Dr, Grand Prairie, TX 75051
Adams Middle School: 833 W Tarrant Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75050
