What we wore in San Miguel this summer.

The hero fit of the trip? My new pink and orange striped tiger caftan and pajama set…worn out and about, on repeat, unapologetically. Colorful, comfy, and perfect for every single moment I reached for them. That’s a hero fit.💓🐅🍊

The girls kept it easy breezy…cute sets and flowy skirts that moved with the cobblestones and looked effortless every single step. They nailed it.💕💕

FARM Rio is always a must in San Miguel🌈a Talavera tile-inspired shirt💙, a green floral top paired🍃🌸 with the most fun balloon pants🦜, and a green dress that did double duty for family photos AND my favorite drinks KI’BOK COFFEE SMA green juice💚and matcha🍵 . Full green moment, fully intentional.
FARM Rio just belongs here. Year round for me, but especially on these cobblestones.💃

Along the way, leave room in your suitcase for shopping the Mercado+other boutiques.
Always…I picked up the most beautiful Mexican shirts👚 and brought my fav arloom huipils and paired them straight with denim👖cutoffs for the perfect cobblestone street look. No overthinking required.

I went all-black for workouts this trip…and while I love the black bathing suit formula for travel (so easy to accessorize with turquoise🩵), all-black workout wear is not my vibe-duh!🤣 Thank goodness for my go-to House of Shan trucker hat for the trip…green and hot pink…which saved every single look.💚💓

Layers are non-negotiable. San Miguel days are bright and hot, but the evenings cool down fast. My SaPeyKa and turquoise shawl were my go-to every night without fail.🩵🌈🌙

Shoes: flats only, ladies. Birks, Huaraches, and Hokas. That’s the list. Add a Sissy Light | Sun Hats + Accessories Brand straw hat and a crossbody to free up your hands for shopping-and you are set.✅

I didn’t bring my jeans or Fraulein Boot Company boots this trip and I felt it on our trail ride 😂but we made do with Pilcro By Anthropologie flowy denim pants👖 and brought home extra treasures🪎instead. Worth it every time.💯

This city dresses you. All you have to do is show up.☀️

Monday Musings🩵…

The real magic of San Miguel has never been the architecture or the sunsets, while a close second-it’s the people.🩵💒🌅

27 years of coming back, and every trip this town gives us more friends who feel like family. Old friends, new friends, and the ones who somehow become both over one long lunch.💓

To everyone who’s shared a table, a story, a margarita, or a walk through town with us-thank you. You’re the reason this place will always be our home away from home!🩵🇲🇽💃🕺🌈

Spent National Tequila Day the only way San Miguel would allow-behind the turquoise door at Casa Dragones 🩵🍋‍🟩

These walls were once the stables of the Dragones cavalry, the riders who set out from this very spot in 1810 to spark Mexico’s independence. That’s why every bottle carries a “16”-for El Grito, September 16th.🇲🇽

Over 350 years of history in one room, and you can feel every bit of it.🩵

Salud to Mexican craftsmanship-the kind that takes its time. We know a little something about that.🩵🔨

When you’re eating alone The Restaurant and a lady asks to join you -you say YES! 🩵

As we swapped stories about what brought us to San Miguel, we discovered she’s renting the family home that started my entire San Miguel story: Terreplén 5.🩵

My great aunt Doris began traveling here in the 1950s, and my first visit to her home was in 1999…the rest is turquoise history.🩵

She invited us over for drinks and apps, and it was a total walk down memory lane. It’s no longer in our family, but clearly in good hands-so many beautiful changes, yet the mantle remains, along with the other architectural staples we’ve always loved. 🩵

Tennyson joined me in Zambia Week 5 for her first Camp Life Family Legacy!🇿🇲

Watching her lead her group of 9 girls that week was pure joy-she danced like nobody was watching…except for a camera in her face the entire time since that was my job and showed extravagant love to each of them!😉

She left transformed…I left transformed…and above all these girls learned about the transformation power of Jesus!✝️

Getting to watch her do her thing…and let it be hers, not mine…was an honor.🩵

She also had the most amazing Zambian partners that she could lean on every second of the day!🙌
