FYI... I have run into 2 cases lately where insurance payments were on automatic draft and the insurance companies just stopped taking the payments out without the knowledge or consent of the insured people. If they do not get payment, they can then cancel the policies. If you have any insurance payments on automatic bank draft, please check that they have been deducted from your bank account in the last few months. If they have not, you may have already lost your coverage. This is a way (though fraudulent) of taking payment obligations off their books. If this has happened to anyone, please let me know. If any one company is doing this a lot, we need to investigate ways to get your insurance restored if you did not change banks, if the account had money in it to pay the premium and it appears the payments were not made simply because the company refused to collect, not that you refused to pay. There are changes coming to Medicare in 2024. These include the continuation of reduced cost-sharing for insulin and eliminated cost-sharing for recommended, preventive vaccines, as well as the elimination of cost-sharing for Part D prescription drugs in the catastrophic phase and expansion of eligibility for full cost-sharing and premium subsidies under the Low-Income Subsidy program.
