5 THINGS I NEEDED TO HEAR MORE OFTEN AS A CHRONIC PEOPLE-PLEASER ☀️

I've struggled with being a people-pleaser for the majority of my life - and I know I'm not alone in this.

After 6 months of daily journaling and working to recognize my own shortcomings and tendencies around wanting to be liked, these are the 5 best affirmations I've created to combat people-pleasing.

❌ Blurring the lines of your own personal boundaries out of fear of losing the respect or approval of others

❌ Failing to voice your own opinions and stand up for what you believe in because you fear retaliation and disapproval

❌ Avoiding mistakes and confrontation

I ALMOST SAID NO TO INVESTING $8K INTO MY BUSINESS BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID OF FAILING

Let me tell you a story.

Making this decision was not something I took lightly...I'd never spent that much money on ANYTHING before!

"I could hang out in Europe for a month with this kind of money..."

I thought back to how many waitressing shifts it would take to save up.

My hands were shaking when my cursor hovered over the 'complete payment' button.

My heart raced at the possibility of spending that money and never seeing it again.

Visions of me having to shut down my business because I couldn't afford to keep it alive flooded my brain.

BUT I faced the fear and did it anyway.

And the result?

I scaled my coaching biz to 5-figures and counting in less than two months - my first time out the gate.

You see, investing in yourself and your business is NOT money wasted.

Even though COVID canceled my 3-week trip to Europe this summer, I look back at it now as a form of divine intervention.

Because it was never about Europe - or all the things I could've bought or all the things that could've gone wrong.

It was about believing in myself enough to know that WITH this investment, I'd be unstoppable.

NOW - I have the know-how to make that kind of money whenever I feel called to.

3 MISCONCEPTIONS I HAD ABOUT STARTING AN ONLINE BUSINESS (expressed by happy lil rainbows) 🌈

Yep. I'd be willing to bet money that you have these too.

1️⃣ YOU NEED THOUSANDS OF $$$ TO GET STARTED

Nope. My first coaching program was hosted on Google Docs.

My monthly expenses?
- $12.95 for Canva Pro (Graphics)
- $20 for Honeybook (CRM)
- $19 for Flodesk (Emails)
- $29 for Showit (Website)

It's pretty manageable. Besides, tools aren't required. They're just there to streamline processes and make your life easier.

Branding photoshoots, custom logos, and coaching are my heftiest expenses, but even those are optional at first.

2️⃣ YOU NEED THOUSANDS OF FOLLOWERS TO HAVE CREDIBILITY

Also wrong.

I booked out my first ever program with less than 500 followers and scaled to 5-figures in under 2 months.

Vanity metrics don't mean much - If I can do it, you can do it. NEXT.

3️⃣ YOU NEED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TO BE QUALIFIED

Wrong AGAIN!

I'm 22. I have a degree in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and 3 businesses under my belt.

No one is going to tell you when you're qualified to do something.

You decide what you're capable of.

You'd think this is obvious, but SO few people actually survey their audience before making a program!

Get to know your ICA (ideal client avatar) and spend time validating your assumptions.

HOW ARE YOU GONNA SELL ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU'RE SELLING TO?!?!?!?!?!?!

2️⃣ CRAFT AN OFFER AROUND HER PAIN POINTS

Once you know who your ICA 𝘪𝘴 and what she struggles with, identify ways you can provide insight to help her situation.

Break down modules. Create lessons around what you 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 know.

Spend quality time brainstorming and jam pack your offer with VALUUUUEEEE!!!

3️⃣ SELL THE TRANSFORMATION

Here's a HUGE mistake I see ALL THE TIME!

People sell the specifics of their program. The little details.

You only have so much time to capture your girl's attention and educate her on why your program is awesome ⏰

Be concise. Sell the destination not the airplane ✈️
