So we choose the lesser of 2 evils and it’s still taking us down in self destruction

Nate Awad has quite a story about his run ins with the law due to an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Double B Creates sat down with Nate to hear his story, and how he overcame his battle with drugs and alcohol to live a clean and sober life.
He has been sober nearly 13 years and has since owned two crossfit gyms, and recently went digital with Jacked Addicts.
Nate talks about how fitness helped his recovery, and we discuss what it takes to create a new mindset with the addict brain.

I spent well over $100,000 chasing alcohol and drugs
I wasted 1,000s of hours being worthless at bars and clubs or passed out from getting too fukd up
I focused on it all day.. where was I gonna drink, get my next hit, who was I gonna hang out with and get trashed and waste away countless days
The time, money and effort we put into chasing alcohol and drugs is a massive investment
And it’s absolutely an investment into destroying yourself bc you vote with your dollars and time
And where your time, money and focus goes you follow
Imagine putting that same effort and focus towards getting you health where it needs to be
Focusing your time on prepping your foods, exercising and doing the things you need to prioritize for optimal health
Investing in yourself and getting a coach or mentor to guide you and teach you how to take care of yourself
Bc all we know as recovering addicts and alcoholics is how to burn this m***a fukr down lol
I want you to think on that bc when you say you don’t have the time, money or desire to become your greatest self you’re just lying
You made the time, you found the money, you extinguished every single resource imaginable to self destruct
Don’t you think your worth that effort, putting in the work to be who you’ve always wanted to be
Think about where you’d be if you dedicated yourself and prioritized your health and well-being for just 1 laser focused year
You’d be in an amazing place and light years ahead of where you are now
So make the time, invest the money, put in the m***a f***n effort bc your worth it
And if don’t get this handled now you’ll be forced to handle it later
And when you’re forced to handle it later it may be too late
I’m in your corner ready to fight with you
As recovered addicts we can get stuck in survival mode of just trying to stay sober
That’s a dangerous place to be
We have to advance an become better human beings
That’s physically, mentally and spiritually
Reading books, meditating, learning new skills, eating right, exercising, managing stress, sleeping better, hydrating ourselves properly
Improving these areas will get us further away from our darkness and less likely to have thoughts of using and drinking again bc we have implemented positive and healthy things that push out the bad
Keep working on yourself
