It’s been a while since I posted, not because I think of him less or miss him less. He still walks beside me every day. He still visits me in my dreams, tho I wish that were more often. I still mostly feel like when I lived overseas…that he’s there, but just out of sight and that I’ll see him when I get there. The 28th was 1 year. One year since the world changed. I love you, Daddy.

You never missed an event. Ever. Thank you for being such a great example.
It’s been a hot minute since I posted. It’s been months, but it’s been just a heartbeat. I miss seeing you in the pool. I miss you at all the end of year things. I miss your joy at seeing Cate come back from college. I miss your texts, your reminders that I need to get my dogs cheese. I miss seeing you in your den. I still feel like you’re just around the next corner. I miss you, Daddy.

Missing you something fierce today, Daddy. I gave the STAAR in a coach’s room who reminds me a lot of you—even his handwriting. He has legal pads with his notes on them…and his baseball schedule is written on the calendar on his desk. It makes me smile. And it also makes me want to throw things. I love you, and I’m pretty sure the missing is never going to go away. I hate this.

So a smile in what’s otherwise been a lousy couple of days. Both your teams won tonight. You would’ve been happy. *pic just because I love seeing you.
