Have you prepared for the winter weather yet?
Here are a few steps you can take:

1. Become familiar with the location and operation of all water shut offs servicing your building, unit, and plumbing fixtures
2. Check interior plumbing fixtures and individual water line shut offs (such as angle stops for supply lines, tub cut‐offs, etc.) for easy and proper operation, & repair as needed. Make sure have you or someone who can share the key to shutoff the water from the main line in case of emergency
3. Keep contacts of professional plumber/plumbing companies handy in case of emergency
4. Disconnect hoses and insulate outdoor faucets.
5. Open cabinet doors under sinks/vanities to allow heat to reach pipes to keep pipes warm
6. Drip faucets, both cold and hot
7. Turn off your irrigation system
8. Leave the heat on a minimum temperature of 65° F, especially if you won’t be home
9. Check all windows and doors for drafts and seal properly
10. Cover outdoor plants
11. Monitor local weather reports for anticipated freezing conditions
