What a great day at the MetroTex Association of REALTORS EXPO!

We loved spending time with the North Texas real estate community and connecting with so many of our industry partners. There were countless great conversations throughout the day—always encouraging to hear how many agents already know and trust SFR, and just as rewarding to meet those learning about us for the first time.

Today I’m reflecting on the news that Perma Pier Foundation Repair closed their doors Friday morning. It’s my understanding that their employees showed up for work and discovered the company had closed. No notice. Families scrambling. Customers were mid install. Agents were left with repairs not completed for closings. Tragic.
I spent the weekend with the staff figuring out every way we could help their former employees, their customers, and the real estate agents that depended on them.

Today, as I reflect on the last several years, I’m pulled toward a responsibility to educate. We have heard so many people at other companies say

“We are cheaper than Structured”
“We don’t make you transfer your warranty like Structured”
“We don’t have all the rules that Structured has”
“We can take short cuts to install quicker”

The “rules” they are referencing are simply policies and procedures designed to ensure longevity. Longevity for our employee owners, longevity for the agents that trust us, longevity for the owners we promised a lifetime transferable warranty to.

Our motto has always been “Do The Right Thing”. It’s not always been easy. But we are here and we’ll be here.

The atmosphere is set up to unleash some pretty nasty hailers this afternoon that will sweep NW to SE across much of north Texas including much of the DFW area.

Storms this morning should stay north and northeast of us, but later this afternoon as a cold front/dryline combo moves in, this will easily ignite some very strong to severe thunderstorms because there will be little to no cap in place.

It sure would be nice if these morning storms could put out a larger area of rain-cooled air to lower the strength of the afternoon activity, but so far, that does not seem to be happening.

All severe weather modes will be possible with hail sizes ranging from relatively small pocket change to as large as softballs in the strongest of storms, along with wind gusts 40 to 80 mph, and the threat for tornadoes.

So stay alert late this afternoon and evening across north Texas...it's going to be a bumpy ride. As I told my students yesterday...make sure you park in a parking garage if at all possible if you don't plan on being home by late this afternoon.

Here's hoping your location can thread the needle and slip in between the hail cores!
