Helping individuals with diverse abilities navigate and thrive in a complex world

For many people with sensory sensitivities, headphones help soften the noise of a loud world.
They help with focus, comfort, and staying calm in busy places.
This shirt explains it simply and proudly:
Yes, I have special needs. I’m awesome and I like soft sounds.
A small message that can help others understand.
“Oh! I like soft sounds too.”
“I see you like soft sounds.”
Sometimes a few words can turn curiosity into connection.
✨ Follow Atypical Living for more designs that help turn everyday moments into connection and understanding.

Sometimes the world notices differences first.
But what if we asked a different question?
What are your superpowers?
This shirt is all about shifting the focus to strengths — kindness, determination, humor, creativity, empathy, persistence, and more.
Because every person has something that makes them extraordinary.

Sometimes what stands out first is the diagnosis.
The label.
The needs.
The support required.
This shirt shifts the focus.
It speaks in hugs.
And kisses.

Sometimes curiosity shows up as a stare.
But connection begins with a simple hello.
This shirt is a reminder that people with disabilities don’t need pity or awkward silence — they need inclusion, kindness, and conversation.
Next time you see someone who looks different…
✨ Don’t stare.
👋 Say hi.
Because belonging starts with small moments.

This new deck targets simple yes/no questions, early AAC use, and short phrases by deciding if something belongs in a tree — because if a rabbit is in a tree, that’s a NO (and kind of silly!).

🔥❄️ New Winter Fire Safety Resource! ❄️🔥
Teach real-world emergency vs. not emergency skills while practicing the AAC core word ON/OFF (fireplace on or off).
Each cozy winter scene features two dogs by the fire… and students must decide if it’s safe or an emergency. When they’re too close, a flame on the shoe gives a clear warning cue!
Perfect for:
✔ Life skills & safety lessons
✔ AAC modeling & expressive language
✔ Special education & speech therapy
Students respond with single words, short phrases, or full explanations, and then check their answer by tapping Emergency or Not.
