After 20 years in Law Enforcement in the North Texas area, I moved back to Montana (I had lived in Billings and Great Falls) where until 2016 I photographed landscapes, wildlife, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. I also worked as a contractor for Montana Rail Link which gave me my many opportunities to explore and photograph Montana. If not for health reasons, I would still be there. Except

Not Yellowstone or Glacier, just every day Montana! Closer to home I was able to feed that urge to find places that evoked the same (or nearly the same) emotions and spiritual enlightenment like the National Parks are famous for. Up in the northern areas of the Absaroka Mountains, just 20 miles from home, sometimes because of work, but more for the adventure, I would spend hours upon hours being still. There is so much to be said for stillness in the mind and soul and realizing that worries are pointless and one's own humbling realization that our smallness in such a big place has a profound and lifelong effect on how we see the world.
