Una afirmación para familias posparto. Tenemos mas capacidad para cumplir las necesidades de nuestros chiquitos cuando nuestras necesidades están cumplidas primero. 🤍

An affirmation for postpartum parents. We are able to meet the needs of our little ones more fully when our needs are met first. 🤍

I’m excited to announce that our first group of girls at Mulumbi Primary has completed the Reusable Menstrual Pad Program! To celebrate they’ll be having a graduation ceremony when next term starts 😊 We are asking for funds to host this ceremony as well as materials to keep the program going. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out! 🇿🇲 *consent was received for images used*

When I tell people I’m a Postpartum Doulas often times this is the first question I get! We are individuals who care about providing support through the transition that having a newborn brings. 🍃

As Mothers Day approaches I’ll be quoting some mom’s I know regarding their transition into motherhood 🌷of course I had to ask my mom what she wished she would’ve known before having me (her 1st child) & this was her response! Such a beautiful reminder to try your best to find ease in this period. 💕

In the medical industrial complex Black birthing individuals are not taken seriously or heard when they express valid concerns. Due to the dismissal of these individuals “black women are 2 to 3 times as likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women” - This is why black doulas and midwives are so important!! They allow black birthing individuals to take that power back and lower rates of unnecessary interventions. 🖤
