Had a great 60min session with a brand new artist today. I know they will do well in this industry. how do i know? they brought a notebook and left with a few pages. sometimes when I meet people i feel like I didn't get across what i wanted to. today i know thats not the case.

3 years ago I traveled over 1500 miles in 2 weeks and played and stayed in houses. We put on 7 shows in all and played in places like Corpus Christi, Austin, San Antonio, Mobile Ect. Called it “The House Show Tour”

We did all the promo and booking ourselves. It was hard but such a test and eventually testament to what we could do as indie artist.

Darren’s Do’s: Friday

PLAYLIST: idk about you but I can’t get much done without music playing. I choose to think of it as a blessing and not a curse. That being said the DFW music scene is balling and I’ve created a playlist for you (for me) that features a lot of the top talent in the area and includes friends of mine from the industry that are breaking through or have broken through to the tippy top. 4. BEVERAGE: Yesterday I said my go to spot was White Rhino. A beverage can be an essential part to offset slow productivity. Its important to fuel your power hour or To Do List with something tasty and energy building. My Beverage of choice is a large Sebastion…hot..In a to go cup…because I get nervous

3. COMFORTABLE SPACE: I can’t stress this enough. Just like the “look good feel good” sentiment, if you find yourself in a comfy space you’ve set yourself up for success. My go to spot is White Rhino Coffee.

TO-DO List: I know it sounds basic but this to do list isn’t normal. There’s moments in my life where brilliance happens and I say to my self “remember that” but I find myself forgetting a lot. I’ve started writing these down immediately and it’s really helped this brilliant moment become a more occurring thing. Those thing I write down go in a notebook named “To-Do”

POWER HOUR: This is one of my favorite things I do weekly. These days I get a lot of emails and I’m sending so many that it seems to overwhelm me. I decided to save the emails I’m sending and receiving for a specific length of time where I drop everything I’m doing and tackle my inbox. I call this time the power hour.
