Mortgage Myth: I need 20% to buy my first home.

Truth: FHA lets you do 3.5% down and conventional can go down even lower to 3%. Sometimes (like right now) there are programs that let you get a grant that gives you 2% making a buyer need only 1% for a down payment.

This allows you to save money to buy sweet outfits and f***y packs.

Sometimes the best thing you can do it just try once more. I've been seeing some difficult files lately that other lenders have passed on, I love these kind of challenges. Good on the borrower for not giving up either when they hear no.
