Did you know the holiday celebrates the Mexican army’s incredible victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862? While it’s a smaller celebration in Mexico (mainly in Puebla), Cinco de Mayo became a symbol of Mexican-American pride in the 1960s and is widely celebrated today in the US!
