We are now offering our premium quality columns for purchase. Decatur Buildings columns are manufactured locally in Texas. We manufacture a unique laminated building column by combining BECK Fastening Diamond Coating Jumbo fasteners, face glue, and hard wood lamels to make a superior, economical building component.
Advantages of Decatur Buildings columns over solid sawn columns:
* Straighter, stronger and lighter columns greatly reduce labor costs in field as well as eliminate call backs.
* Posts won’t crack or split and are of uniform dimension (making framing and finish work easier).
* Longer Lengths available on a minimal amount of time from placement of order.
* Individual plys can be notched or shaped for unique connections.
Advantages of Decatur Buildings columns over other mechanically laminated columns:
* All Beck Diamond Coating jumbo fasteners throughout column for industry best holding strength.
* Adhesive between plys and the utilization of hard wood lamels greatly cuts down on interply slip resulting in better weak-axis stiffness.
* Structural finger joints utilized in our columns offer superior load bearing over traditional butt joints.
Advantages of Decatur Buildings columns over GLU-Laminated columns:
* Nail-Lams can be easily notched in field for unique connections.
* No more need to worry about possible long term delamination of plys.
* Nail-Lams are more economical than glu-laminated columns.
* Lead time of custom columns is often much shorter than traditional glu lam columns
