Hey, hey, hey... August 28, 2024

Soooooo I pull up at work today and as I am walking in the building I see a guy walking by eating a bag of Cheetos… I say GM, that’s an interesting breakfast to which he says, yes I just got of our jail serving 22 years… I say, “what you do?” 😬. He said accessory to a crime. He then starts to ask if I could buy him a drink and then recants his ask mid sentence and says, they may give him one as to say never mind. We then talk a little more as he inquires about what Church I go to and such. Long story short the Lord ministers and I ask if I can give him a hug because he was the answer to my questions to the Lord my whole ride in as it related to the indecisiveness that had kept me from getting out of the house and to work on time. I had to show up when I did because he would be passing by at that moment. Had things gone another way for me I would not have been in place to witness to him and be reminded by God that He is orchestrating my every step.

Additionally, while driving to work I realized it was 8/28 and began to say Romans 8:28 out loud as I drove in.

I parked, met the guy, and walked in the office with a profound declaration, “And we (I) KNOW that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” emphasis added

I was right on time to be the vessel He could use to encourage my brother as he begins his new journey.

Lord heal the places we react from, the places where we were hurt, disappointed, let down, neglected, beat up, injured, lied on, where we have regret, where we messed up, Lord You know the hurt we have and the things that keep us from moving forward. I’m asking that you heal in those places right now. Do it for everyone, I’m standing before You asking for You to move in, over and through lives TODAY. It serves/served a purpose, reveal to us that we may move forward in POWER, not fear. Help to release anything associated to it and RECEIVE the love You are supplying now. In Jesus name. Amen

Lord, heal our homes, our communities, our cities, our states, our nation, our land. We are leaning and depending on You for instruction that will bring about manifestation. We trust Your will and Your way for our lives. Lord, prick our hearts for righteousness and quicken our spirits to be about Your business today. We release our agendas and listen for Yours. Open our eyes to see and love as You love. Help us to be the vessels You use for the need we encounter today. And we know that You are faithful to meet us at our need as we meet the needs of others. In Jesus name, Amen.

“ But now this saith the Lord that created the, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name; thou art mine. “ Isaiah 43:1 KJV

Let this sink in on this grand Monday morning. The Lord talks to you in every season and stage of your life. Keep growing in Him as He forms you in to what He purposed you to be and do.

Memorial Day is a day set aside to Honor those who served our country but didn’t make it back to the country they served. It’s noble to honor people in death(cessation of life) for what they sacrificed but we should also honor those who lost a piece of themselves and struggle every day with living.

I’d like to shift your focus just a little to those who served, made it back but left a part of them where they served. Those who experienced so much that the person they were when they left never returned and they walk around in the shell that looks like them but isn’t. To the ones that said yes to the recruiter and swore in at MEPS, adorned the uniform to protect and serve, was sent to be trained and then to war. Those who experienced combat, the sounds of war all around them, staying up protecting their immediate fellow soldiers deployed with them, going to sleep not knowing if they would be blown up while they slept, walking in after a fellow soldier who couldn’t handle the pressure and decided to take their own life, riding in a vehicle that is blown up and those around you are hit and die, capturing and protecting those on foreign soil because they too (the natives of the countries)are hungry and scared for their life. All this while wondering if they will make it back to those they left at home. Hoping against hope they are doing the right thing with each command given. Maybe not fully understanding the war they are fighting but because they said yes and took an oath they complete the mission and are sent home. Only to return to life that is very different, not because home changed but instead they don’t see it the same. A loud noise, threat of conflict, too many people talking at once, a badgering for information, the uneasy silence, the thoughts, the visions, the dreams that immediately take them back to the war we think they left behind. Yes their bodies made it back however the effect of the experience is the new battle they fight every moment of their existence. They find ways to cope, and some adjust well. Others don’t. When you see a homeless vet, when you see a person who chooses not to go into big crowds, one that needs to sit with their back to the wall so they can see everything, when they abruptly leave an area, when your conversation escalates out of nowhere, KNOW these too deserve honor on this day. They went and came back physically but parts of them didn’t make it back. If you don’t believe me ask one. If they served they deserve Honor not just the days we set aside but EVERY day!

Have a little more patience, take a little more time to understand, empathize because if you never lived it there is no way to fully understand it. It’s REAL though!

I honor you this day and every day and am continually praying for ways to help.

You are not sent to Everyone. Focus!

John 17:4-10; Haggai 1:4-5

Don’t miss your assignment working on/in somebody else’s. He’s looking for you where He called you.

Are you out of place doing “good” work while “your” assigned work is left undone. Haggai says, …”Consider your ways..”
