What makes an FLL robot reliable on game day? 🐢🤖
Here are our top five easy tips for more consistent robot runs:
5️⃣ Clean the wheels and charge the hub
4️⃣ Reduce unnecessary turns
3️⃣ Add physical aligners for accurate attachment positioning
2️⃣ Turn on gyro feedback
1️⃣ Test your motors and hubs—and choose the most consistent
We developed these lessons through testing across UNEARTHED and BIOGLOW. Which tip has helped your team the most?
We spent a morning cleaning up our beautiful Lake Lanier, joining 25 MILLION people from 190 COUNTRIES to make ONE PLANET cleaner. 🌎
Look at what we found! Every piece of plastic and trash we remove can help protect aquatic life and preserve biodiversity. 🐟🌿
A cleaner lake means a healthier habitat. Every small action counts.
Our picks for the **3 easiest BIOGLOW missions to start with** 👀
We looked for:
✅ Good point payoff
✅ Low time cost
✅ Simple mechanics
Our Top 3:
🥉 M5 Reaching Roots
🥈 M7 Humongous Fungus
🥇 M6 Leafcutter Frenzy
Start simple, bank points, then level up.

What can one tiny creek creature tell us about an entire stream? 🐛💧
Georgia DNR led Team Turtlebots into Yahoola Creek for some real field science. We used sampling nets, examined the creatures we found, and learned how tiny stream animals can reveal clues about creek health.
We also learned about a major threat: sediment from erosion can damage the habitats these creatures depend on.
What lives in the creek near you?

🌧️ What a market day!
Kids Markets Stone Mountain Park
It was pouring rain this morning, and setting up our canopy in the downpour was definitely a challenge. We even had to deal with lots of biting ants! 😅🐜
But we’re so glad we made it! 💙🐢
Today, we raised $355 for Team Turtlebots, and even better, we saw so many kids excited about the creations our team made. Every purchase, every conversation, and every person who stopped by to support us meant so much. ❤️
We were also excited to introduce FIRST LEGO League to more families—and we even met several fellow FLL teams and FLL alumni along the way! 🤖
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported our team, played our Spin & Win game, or simply came over to say hello. You made a rainy day a wonderful one!
And to all the FLL teams we met today: we hope to see you again at this season’s tournaments! 🏆🐢

Lucky Leaves just got more interesting: we will not know where the katydid starts.
Our 30-point plan:
✅ Keep the katydid in the leaf habitat.
✅ Check all three leaves.
✅ Take the other two.
That gives us 30 points in each setup we mapped. Would your team try this approach?
405 → 420 points. Two months earlier. 🚀
We thought we were simply getting better and faster.
Until we checked our time tracker…
⏱️ Last season: 344 hours
⏱️ This season: 343 hours
That surprised us — and reminded us that progress isn’t just about talent or luck. The time, effort, practice, failures, and learning all add up. 💙
To every FLL team out there: keep learning, keep pushing, and keep putting in the time.
Let’s make this final FLL season our BEST EVER! 🤖🐢

Can LEGO change a life? 🐢
Our first Team TurtleBots field trip was a Labor Day visit to Georgia Sea Turtle Center. There, we saw a turtle move with help from a LEGO wheelchair—and discovered that LEGO can build far more than toys.
Since then:
4,000+ hours of teamwork.
2× Georgia State Champions.
A World Championship Engineering Excellence Award.
But the most important thing LEGO built was our team.
Labor Day reminds us that meaningful things are built through hard work, curiosity and teamwork.
LEGO helped that turtle move. LEGO helped us grow.
Now it’s your turn. Finish this sentence in the comments:
LEGO built ______ in me. 👇
Too many biodiversity ideas—and apparently not enough whiteboard space! 😂
Are you **team neat rows** or **team creative chaos**?
After meeting with Genevieve Triplett, a Conservation Botany Technician with Georgia DNR’s Wildlife Resources Division, Team Turtlebots filled the board with possible solutions.
Thank you to Genevieve and Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources for sharing your conservation-botany experience and leading this creative brainstorming exercise!
Now we have to organize the ideas and choose one for our BIOGLOW innovation project.
