Blackstone units along with Crewe Volunteer Fire Department, Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department and Amelia Volunteer Fire Department are now returning to service after a residential house fire this morning. Blackstone units were dispatched to the 4700 block of Old Richmond Rd for a reported house fire. Units arrived on scene and had a residential 2 story house with heavy fire throughout the home. Rural water operations were put in place due to no hydrants being in the area. Strong work by all depts and thank you to Nottoway County Emergency Squad, Inc. for standing by ensuring our safety needs are met. And a very special thanks to the citizen who brought us coffee and biscuits while on scene!!! A total of 19,000 gals of water were used to ensure complete extinguishment. The local American Red Cross chapter is assisting the family.
Teamwork...
the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient.

Last nights incident was the text book example of TEAMWORK. Last night it didnโ€™t matter the name on the back of your shirt or what apparatus you arrived on, all members operated quickly and with a purpose with one goal in mind.

Outstanding TEAMWORK last night between our agency with Victoria Fire & Rescue, Crewe Volunteer Fire Department , Med-Flight I & Lunenburg County Sheriff's Office.

Let's Get It We're a very strong and dedicated fire department. We do everything possible to keep our surrounding communities safe!
