The Irish coffee got it's start stateside in the 1950s when Jack Koeppler, then owner of the Buena Vista Cafe, and San Francisco travel writer Stanton Delaplane sat down to try and recreate a drink Delaplane had often written about as part of his travels. After many failures, and even perhaps enlisting the direct help of Joe Sheridan (this is debated), Jack arrived on a recipe that is commonly believed to have been the introduction of the Irish coffee to America.

Every Friday morning, Sophie woke up with a spring in her step, excited for the day ahead. The weekend was just around the corner, and she had a cherished ritual to start her Friday off right: breakfast at her favorite restaurant.

Jitterhead was more than just a restaurant; it was a cozy haven with a warm ambiance and delicious food. Sophie loved the friendly staff, the mouth-watering menu, and the comforting buzz of conversations that filled the air.

This Friday, Sophie bounced out of bed, got dressed quickly, and headed to Jitterhead. The moment she stepped inside, the familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of her favorite corner table bathed in the morning light greeted her.

“Good morning, Sophie!” called out Mia, the cheerful waitress who knew her well.

“Good morning, Mia! I’ll have the usual, please,” Sophie replied, her eyes twinkling with anticipation.

Sophie’s usual was a hearty country fried steak topped with rich sausage gravy, accompanied by two perfectly cooked eggs and crispy breakfast potatoes. To complement her meal, she ordered The Charlotte, a delightful blend of coffee and sweet cinnamon flavors.
