Yesterday we brought a design together for Macy and Zach at Ashton Hill Farm! The mauve and burgandy tones were the perfect pop in the gorgeous white venue! In 2017 Jonna & Austin met in the hospital when Austin was in inpatient rehabilitation with Guillain-Barré syndrome where his immune system attacked his nervous system, making him fully paralyzed. Jonna worked for Genesis Visiting Nurses Association at the same hospital Austin was in, so after meeting online they had their first date in his room! Before Austin fell ill he was an EMT, so he went from lifting and taking care of many to being completely dependent on others.
Jonna came to meet him for their first date at Genesis West in Davenport.
Austin said he knew when she walked into that room, she was something really special. Jonna drove 1 hour every weekend to Austin’s parents house all through his recovery period spending time together whenever they could until he was able to move home and fully recover.
They got engaged this October, when Austin tricked Jonna into coming to help him with a “sprained ankle” 😉back to the room they met.
Austin is now a Paramedic with Genesis Ambulance and Jonna continues as Social Worker at Genesis hospitals.
During the height of COVID last spring they both also volunteered to pick up jobs as aids at the hospital to help support their fellow staff even when they were both emotionally taxed in their daily jobs.
Jonna is also a court appointed special advocate for youth in foster care.
We’ve had the chance to sit down and really visit with the two of them, and they are really something very exceptional.
They are kind, patient, all around amazing humans.
We’re so incredibly thrilled to be gifting them the Be a Light Wedding Giveaway.
We want to thank you Austin & Jonna for continuing to put others first, and for being such a bright light. Congratulations!!!

I’ve written and edited this caption so many times because while I am overjoyed to bring back PFC, I feel as though, in some ways, I owe you all an explanation for our prompt closure two years ago. The simple explanation is – LIFE.

Life happened, and we made the decision to prioritize our family. Simple as that.

PFC became such a wonderful part of our lives, and we absolutely love seeing the joy it brings to the special occasions and milestones in your lives. We’ve learned from our mistakes and grown together – hindsight truly is 20:20. While PFC won’t look exactly the same as it did two years ago, we are excited to start a new chapter with you all.

These two. I cannot express how amazing Sarah + Joel are. While their big day did not happen as planned due to week-of proclamations, they still had the most beautiful day with their closest family + friends.

I had so much fun making this invitation suite. I usually measure each line meticulously for spacing, but this one was so free. I knew I wanted to do a curve, so I just went for it and 😍

PS, most of the time when I just “go for it,” it ends in a total mess. 😂
