This regal little gentleman is STILL waiting for someone to notice him! Roll has been with the rescue a long time now and it’s a bit of a head scratcher. He’s well behaved, good with other dogs, and has had extensive professional training as he waited for the perfect family. He’s young (3) and under 40 lbs and is ready to be someone’s adventure buddy. We’ve got some truly great dogs sitting in the rescue with no interest and we hate it for the dogs that deserve to start the rest of their lives, and for the dogs we could save if we had open fosters. Sophie is the kind of dog that people are usually begging us for. She’s cute as a button, extremely well behaved, loves other dogs and people, great out in public and just generally a sweet joy of a creature. She’s gotten very little interest and we have to chalk it up to her being older, and that really breaks our hearts. Senior dogs are really the best in so many ways and they are just as deserving as other dogs. Sophie’s family dumped her at the shelter with a euthanasia request due to her age (12), and she truly has so much life and so many adventures ahead of her. She just needs the perfect person to see how wonderful she is. Given her age and large size we would prefer a home without really little kids, but a well matched dog playmate would be great or she’s fine living as an only dog too. South Florida peeps - can anyone help this sweet guy? He will need an enucleation on his eye but he’s otherwise healthy, friendly, good with dogs etc etc. We need a foster or foster to adopt to be able to help him. Lenny and Arya are the sweetest brother and sister kitten pair looking for a home together! They had an adopter back out on them after working on the logistics to get them there for a while 🙃 so they are back to square one and wondering why nobody wants to give them a home. They are well socialized with people and dogs (!!!) and just sweet cats. Lenny is the more social of the two but both are very nice cats. Somebody give these sweet kittens a home! Here is more information about Stella:
Stella is a 5 year old 22 pound Jack Russell that has been spayed, micro chipped and is up-to-date with all of her shots. She comes from a home where the owner went into hospice and passed away. She loves to be with people and is very sweet. She is good with other dogs. They believe she is good with kids and are not sure if she’s been around a lot of kids, but she hasn’t shown any aggression at all to anything like that.

She loves people and she’ll just sit on your lap for hours. Stella just loves the attention. She is a great little girl. She does really well on leash walking too.

She has some separation anxiety, so they started Prozac on March 31, the vet says it will take 4-6 Weeks get in our system. I feel like Stella has gone through so many changes that eventually she may not need that.

Senior dogs are such a gift and to take one on knowing your time might be limited takes a special person. How lucky Wilson was to have for his final months where he was always warm and cozy and loved. Dogs don’t experience time in the same way we do so it’s really not about the number of days for them, it’s more about living in the moment and experiencing life as it comes. We know Wilson had the best last chapter we could have hoped for and the heartache of losing him is the price to pay for that. He was a very good boy and he will not be forgotten ❤️. Please consider rescuing a senior! The joy of being able to give them a safe home for the rest of their days outweighs the heartbreak of losing them.

• Personality: Sweet, affectionate, playful, and loving. Her favorite pastimes are hanging out on the back of the couch, rolling around in the grass, soaking up the rays and LOVES chewing on a Kong with frozen chicken! Sleeps through the night and prefers to be in bed with you. 😴
🏡 What Aubree Needs:
• An active owner who enjoys walks a few times a day. 🏃‍♂️
• A fenced-in yard would be a plus, but NOT a must 🌳
• ADULT home, maybe a retiree or someone who works from home. Older kids would be okay, but prefer an adult home. She loves companionship and being near her people. ❤

• Dogs: She would do great with another dog around her age, but also wouldn't mind being the queen of her own castle, as long as she could have play dates here and there.
• Grooming - don't let her coat fool you, she will get her fluffy coat back and will need regular grooming.

We are devastated to share that Snow White didn’t make it. She had been improving each day and we were hoping today was the day she would get off oxygen. We were making plans to send her to foster. Instead, she developed a new lung problem and crashed this morning and the vet said there was nothing we could do and we needed to let her go. This is the hard side of rescue. We are so appreciative of everyone who contributed to her care, who prayed for her, who stood up and said she mattered. She did matter and we are so sad she didn’t get the beautiful outcome she deserved 💔💔.

Put yourself in our shoes for a moment: it’s Friday evening, a message comes through with this photo begging us to save Snow White who is dying from pneumonia and can’t stay in the shelter after the vet leaves in 30 minutes. Nothing but a photo and dire medical and the promise of a sweet dog who deserves a chance. These are the heart wrenching decisions shelters and rescues have to make daily, and often we have to say no and carry a little lump in our chest knowing a dog didn’t make it out. We know we can’t save them all. But last night we said yes to this sweet deaf girl, and she was transported to the ER where she is fighting for every breath. Her estimate is in the thousands (attached) but she’s a fighter. If you can spare a few bucks to help with her care we appreciate it immensely. We are a very small volunteer-run team and we have to make the hard decisions every day, and we also rejoice at every notification that someone has supported us because it makes our little team feel a bit bigger ❤️. Wilson checking in to say hi! Wilson has been with us for a few months now and he’s generally doing pretty well and seems happy but he’s had a hard time gaining any weight despite having a good appetite, and he is showing some other concerning age related behaviors. So he’s headed to the vet tomorrow for a check up and bloodwork to see if anything is going on. He’s been enjoying many cozy naps in the meantime!
