In this Community Ed class, students will learn about Newtonâs law and laws of motions and gravity, Cantilever principle, hand-eye synchronization, and more. During class, they will independently build working motorized models of Pendulum ride, Robotic Goal-keeper, Construction Elevator, Snail Robot and others. Anoka-Hennepin Parent Involvement is hosting a free training event, âFundraising? Oh My!â. The event will give members of parent/teacher organizations, booster clubs or other nonprofits a boost by learning about different fundraising options that are available to groups in the school district or local area.
The event will be held in-person on April 19, 2022, from 4 â 7 p.m. at the Educational Service Center in Anoka (2727 N. Ferry St., enter door 7).
Attendees will get advice about determining their groupâs fundraising needs, promoting fundraisers, creating a calendar and other best practices. Theyâll take home tips and meet with fundraising vendors to learn about new opportunities. Participants will also have the chance to ask questions of local experts that may be helpful to their group, in the fields of insurance, banking, finance, and conflict resolution.

Exciting news: Girls on the Run is coming to Adams Elementary! Girls on the Run is an afterschool program that uses the power of running to prepare 3rd - 5th grade girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Over the course of the 8-week, 16-lesson season, girls learn life-changing lessons about healthy friendships, teamwork, decision-making, self-respect and more, all while preparing to run a 5k. Open to all 3rd - 5th grade girls and non-binary/gender expansive youth; no previous running experience required, and generous financial aid is available. Registration is open at www.gotrmn.org now! Our season will be each Monday & Wednesday 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. from April 4 - June 4th, culminating with the Girls on the Run 5K the first weekend in June. Space is limited so register early!
