GRATITUDE. A is for Appreciation. A small token of gratitude can go a long way in making someone's day! Take a look at all of the beautiful and creative ways that students across the district are sharing their thoughts and words in showing appreciation for their friends, family, staff and school.

The lighted gratitude trees from Wilson Elementary School were inspired by the "Character Strong" program, in which participating elementary schools focus on themes each month such as respect, empathy, gratitude, kindness, honesty, courage, cooperation, perseverance and responsibility - integrated through short lessons, morning announcements and/or recognition opportunities to help foster emotional maturity and develop character traits. Principal Christopher Forrest said students hung leaves with notes about what they were grateful for this month, in addition to collecting donations from hat day to purchase "gratitude meals" for families in need.

Adams Elementary also hosted a similar "Treemendously Thankful" work of art in its hallways; along with Adventures Plus programs at Lincoln Elementary School and Mississippi Elementary. Three sisters from Dayton Elementary School were allowed to "stay up way past their bedtime" by their parents to create a thank you poster for honoring each of the Adventures Plus before- and after-school staff at their school so they could thank each person individually!

This is a picture of 11 boys from Adams Elementary school in Boise years ago. They just re-enacted the same picture as they're all graduating from four different Boise high schools. Check out what they look like now 👀
The Adventures Plus program at Adams Elementary really enjoyed celebrating a variety of themes throughout the month of February, including “Superbowl," “Winter Olympics," “Disney," and “Art Through Books” week. Take a look at a few of the memories our team at Adams captured last month!

Adventures Plus is the Anoka-Hennepin School District's school-age care program, offered to all families in the school district and provided at each elementary school. Care is available before- and after-school, and on non-school days which include winter, spring and summer breaks. Learn more at ahschools.us/adventuresplus.
Shelby Gracik (programmer at Adams Elementary, Ramsey Elementary School and Wilson Elementary School) suggests making a bird feeder. It's easy to do with items you likely already have at home.

Meet the immensely talented Madison Booher! Madison is such a multifaceted part of our team: A Crossfitter, soccer player, and dedicated viewer of The Great British Bake Off, she’s become such a vital member of SPACE, not just for her careful and thorough project management style, but because she is willing to share her excitement for her work – and she makes us all better in the process. We’re thrilled to have her (and her two huskies) as part of our team. Madison has taken (and aced) three of her Architect Registration Exams and, upon taking the required six, will be a registered architect. Passionate about giving back to her community, Madison also serves on The American Institute of Architects Women in Architecture’s Hawthorn School for Girls Committee and reads to children at Adams Elementary as part of a Mission: St. Louis volunteer program.
Parents be sure to purchase an item for yourself, and also bring the catalog to the office to show co-workers!

Remember, if every family buys 1 items, our school will get more money to spend on education!
