Here are a few more pics from the New Member & Alumni happy hour last week and our Club Service Project at Feed My Starving Children! As a whole group we packed 109 boxes of food for those in need!

Coon Rapids Rotary hosted our first New Member & Alumni Happy Hour last week. 40 people enjoyed drinks and appetizers and heard more about some of the good we do as Rotarians- helped out by a few young men from Coon Rapids High Schoolwho shared their positive experience of the Youth Frontiers Respect Retreat (first as Freshman and still active as Seniors). Our Club would like to thank Tedi Carlson of the Lake Elmo Rotary Club for presenting "A Voice for the Voiceless", a district wide Human Trafficking awareness initiative. **Pay special attention the the apps that are often used to recruit and sell trafficking victims, many of our children are using them regularly.

The Coon Rapids Rotary Club was able to visit the Youth Frontiers - Respect Retreat for Coon Rapids High School 9th Grade Students last week. The learning objectives of the retreat include: 1) help students realize they matter, others matter and what they do matters; 2) understand that disrespectful behavior is harmful and engage bystanders to stand up; and 3) identify ways to improve the culture of respect in your community and school. Our Club is honored to fund the annual retreat by raising money at our Rotary Sampler event that is held on the first Thursday in October.
