Community Action NOW!, in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine researchers, is conducting a vital survey to assess the impact of the recent biolab chemical fire on our community. This Post Fire Public Health Recovery survey aims to provide comprehensive support, including connecting residents with crucial services and researching immediate and long-term health effects. If you live in Rockdale, Newton, Walton, Gwinnett, Henry, or DeKalb County, please participate in our 10-minute survey. Your input is essential for developing effective recovery solutions.

We're baaaaaaack!
Join us at The Movement Church in Conyers to learn about the proposed projects and campaigns of the Shutdown BioLab Coalition. We have a new leadership committee - the Committee to Protect Rockdale - some major updates on how we can pay it forward and keep our people safe - and we want you to plug in. Our meetings are on the 4th Monday of every month, in person, from 6-7PM with another 30 minutes after for you to meet your neighbors and discuss everything that what we're working towards.

“It’s like it didn’t matter,” Stephens-Jordan said of how Kemp treated the crisis. “That’s a major thing. That’s a chemical fire.”
Reed Williams at the AJC with a great story this morning. It’s at the top of the page on AJC’s website and includes many community members and leaders you may know, including Cheryl Garcia, Larry Cox, and State Rep. Rhonda Taylor.
This coalition is forming a leadership committee and will meet again on January 27th with big announcements and concrete steps you can take to get involved and support this movement. Facebook event coming on Monday, but mark your calendars for 6-7PM on the 27th.

Happy New Year Family!
As we transition into building a movement that can protect us, long-term, we have changed our meeting schedule.
Committee members will meet the 2nd Monday of every month - this month on the 13th.
Everyone interested will meet on the 4th Monday of every month - this month on the 27th.
If you're interested in joining a committee for your county, please reach out to this page. More details on how to attend the General Body meeting, which should be in person, will be posted in the coming weeks.
We have not given up this fight. Our goal is to revitalize the Local Emergency Planning Committees, build a movement that takes community safety seriously, and shut down this company once and for all. Stay tuned for more information, and please mark your calendars.
