Hey everyone I wanted to post here. If you’ve reached out for a project or anything you know that I’m about to have stomach surgery to repair a few issues and am going to be down for a while. I’m closing up shop until the dr clears me for regular activity again and will let you all know. I’m sorry as I know the holidays are upon us and there are a few that have reached out to me for those and I am very sorry. There are several wonderfully talented woodworkers and makers in central Arkansas that you could get in touch with on the Centeal Arkansas Makers page. Thank you all for your business and have a wonderful fall and holiday season!

Just finished this beautiful table.

So after a long hiatus from posting and spending time with family we are back!! Help us get the page to 350 likes and we'll have a very special drawing! More details to come. Here's a small hint.

Yes we do book shelves too! Traditional joinery using mortise and tenons was used and minimal wood screws meaning this could be an heirloom piece for the couple who commissioned it. Also when you don’t have the right sized clamps you improvise with ratchet straps!

Tailgating season is upon us hit me up for details on how to receive one of these bad boys. Also what goes better with football and BBQ than an amazing icebox full of cold drinks? That's right nothing except maybe cold drinks and Cornhole/baggo!

Keep an eye out for the story behind these. We will begin selling these soon. They are made from100% authentic Bethlehem Olivewood collected directly from the birthplace of Christ. 100% of the proceeds will be going to a family whose wife is fighting cancer. We will post a video soon explaining the details.

We also have some incredibly comfortable shirts that we are starting to sell as well. I'm a little partial to the logo but the shirts are extremely comfortable too.

We love when our fellow small business owners trust us with helping them promote their business!

There are moments when you are working on a project that you realize that a mess could be avoided with another tool. Part of the fun of Woodworking is making your own tools to accomplish the desired goal. This is a downdraft table I made to suck the dust from sanding into a shop vac. I did this because, even with a mask, I was inhaling far too many harmful dust particles and this was one way to correct that. Now to finish the orders I am currently working on.

One down one to go on this order. Private message us if you're interested in getting some of these for your home. All orders are custom made upon confirmation.

These fit perfectly with the table we just finished. Farm style chairs with cushions wrapped in cow hide that came from the customers cattle farm.

Last call for the auction.

The auction officially goes live tonight at 6 and will run through next Wednesday (that's a week) or until there has been more than 24 hours of no bidding activity. I will monitor he auction and keep a tally of those making bids. This is easily an 60$ pen based solely on the hardware let alone the wood and again 100% of the proceeds go to the Rowe family adoption fund. The pen is a one of a kind roller ball pen meant to harken to the classic over-under shotgun, with the cap replicating a shotgun shell. The cap is turned from a blank of African Blackwood and the bottom portion is turned from the winners choice of premium hardwoods that range from walnut to other exotic woods available.

Here are the instructions:

1.) Place a bid by commenting the amount you have chosen to bid increase by increments 5 dollars.
2.) Starting bid is at 20 dollars.
3.) Once the reserve has been hit and no more bids have been made we will announce the winner and contact them to set up payment and delivery of the pen.

Photos from FlyHog Woodworking's post 05/03/2017

Update: the auction is taking place on the post with just the picture of the pen and will remain open until Wednesday of next week or there has been more than 24 hours of no bids whichever comes first. If you don't get this one we will have another chance at something coming soon both going to the adoption funds.

As anyone that has gone through the adoption process in the past knows it is expensive… Like crazy expensive! With the average cost ranging between 32,000 and 42,000, and those costs are above the average income of a good majority of Americans. This staggering cost is made even more frustrating when you consider that adoption out of foster care is far less expensive. This is compounded by the fact that not every family can do foster care for a variety of reasons.
FlyHog Woodworking has paired with the Rowe family in an effort to help them alleviate this financial burden. They have shown they are willing to do whatever it takes to adopt through various fund raising efforts and attempts. They have a stated goal on the link provided below of 25,000. Of which they have quite a ways to go. Easton is a teacher in Northwest Arkansas and Darla is a Health Educator at Washington Regional in Northwest Arkansas.
Here is a chance for friends of the page and friends of me personally to step up and show how much they really care and have a chance to win some really cool gear while they are at it. We will do this in a series of two events. The first being an auction to take place here on the page and we will set a limit that if not reached the item then will be donated to a separate program. Second we will do a giveaway similar in scope to other giveaways seen on Facebook. Look for a video explaining the auction and the piece being auctioned off to post. 100% of the money raised from the auction goes to the Rowe family’s adoption funds.
While we don’t have any allusions of raising the full 25,000 any amount would be hugely appreciative so with that said let’s see who can win this pen as our first step and attempt at an auction. This pen retails for 60 dollars normally and is truly unique as it is made from harvested deer antler and is a bolt action pen.
Here are the rules:
1.) Place a bid buy commenting the amount you have chosen to bid increase by increments 5 dollars.
2.) Starting bid is at 20 dollars.
3.) Once the reserve has been hit and no more bids have been made we will announce the winner and contact them to set up payment and delivery of the pen.

Should have posted these a while ago this is turning out to be a massive table. Love these types of projects.

Timeline photos 05/01/2017

New to the shop is this amazing roller ball pen with an over under shotgun theme. The caps are each turned from select blanks of Blackwood and feature a striking cap top replicating a shotgun shell. The pen clip is a casted replica of an over-under shotgun. The pen body is made from your choice of premium hardwood and other exotic woods per request (featured on this pen is some spalted hackberry harvested in Central Arkansas by the guys at Urban Timbers). Check it out on our Etsy shop page or PM me for details on prices.
