I'm doing Meals on Wheels as my charity. Monday, July 4.

Money collected will go to the PTO and the local MoW.

Food Safety Manager Training + Texas Certification Exam | 360training

A note from Mom:

The 2022 application.

Lottie will be hiring for Season 6. Her season will be April 22- August 22 this year. All Team Members must have this certification. The Team will be interviewed in the off-season and chosen before Spring break with two Teammates starting April 1 for set up. Lottie will reimburse her Team Members for this certification (when hired).

Because we've had the question a dozen times via messenger: As an employer, I do not care if you've had the covid or flu vaccine. Your body. Your choice. End of discussion.

Payroll:
Hourly Wage
$10/hr Season 1
$11/hr Season 2
$12/hr Season 3, etc

Hints for applying:

1. Lottie takes points off when parents apply for their kids.

2. You need to love people. Lottie loves her guests like family. If you are not a people person, do not apply. You don't want the negative attention from a 12 year old boss. It will be embarrassing for you.

3. Take initiative. Be able to follow checklists and stay busy. If you are inherently lazy and never help your mom and dad take out the trash, do not apply. Lottie will ask your parents how helpful you are around the house. Earn your keep. Do your part as a member of your family so I'll know you'll be a great team member for my family.

4. Be flexible with your schedule. We prioritize our family time and time for our team's families during the summer. As a result, everyone needs to pitch in to cover shifts. You will have to work most weekends. You will have to get up before noon. You will just, in general, need to be awake.

5. Be reliable and dependable. Miss one shift and you are forgiven. Miss two shifts and your employment is terminated.

If you are not flexible with your work hours, you will not be scheduled to work. Example : "I can't work weekends." I am a 48 year old woman who works 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, because my 5 year old found her passion serving snow to people. If I can survive on 4 Advil a day, 4 months out of the year, you can certainly work a 4 hour shift on a Saturday. Committing to this job means that you are making it a priority. You earn your shifts. Do a great job and you earn more shifts. It's simple and easy and fun. If we can't rely on you, you aren't fun and you aren't employable.

6. No Eddie or Edweena Haskells. Be genuine and authentic. That's the example I want around Lottie. We have team members who love her guests as much as she does. Talk under your breath or roll your eyes and I'll send you home and your mother can sort you out.

7. Transportation helps. Having your license and a car will be great because I don't want to hear that you can't come to work because your dad's uncle's roomate's cousin's friend's daughter's boyfriend can't drive you to work. Show up, on time, and be smiling.

8. Know first grade math.

9. I expect for you to have manners. If ma'am, sir, please, and thank you, aren't part of your daily vocabulary, you're not living your best life. Be better.

10. If you are an adult who is applying, God love you. I work with dozens of teens every summer and I try and mother and manage them all. There is a fine line between being their manager and their co-worker. If they do not like you, you won't make it. Teenagers are punishing and rewarding at the same time. Their parents are a part of the team and I love and respect them. You should be prepared to firmly and gently direct kiddos to follow instructions. i.e. You should get a Spec's card and be prepared to use it.

I will not be opening this season. I want my team to be able to get their vaccines before I open. I can't make the crowd on the deck smaller. Social distancing is hard sometimes. I tried to make a video, but I keep crying in them. I will post one soon because I miss everyone so much. I do not know if this is the right thing but I love my guests a lot and I want everyone to be happy and healthy. I have never been more grateful for water in my life and you all KNOW I love water, especially filtering and freezing and shaving it. Baby-wipe "baths" are not great. The plumber came yesterday and we have water at home now.

Thank you to the good Samaritan who shut off mine and Dad's water at the main. We couldn't get out of our driveway until Thursday afternoon. I shut my water off to the building at the end of the season, but Dad's would have made a mess if you hadn't done that. So thank you very much whoever you are. ❤️🥰

Mom said this post counts as part of my writing credits for homeschool this week. I think that is funny. It means she hasn't done my lesson plan for next week. 👏🏼👏🏼

Hidden Gem owner opens new crepe restaurant in Conroe

I ate there yesterday. The strawberry crepe with Nutella and the cream cheese whip. Dad ate a sandwich. We will go back. She is going to need to move to a big huge space because the line for her food will be bigger than the one on my deck. She is in the gas station across from the movie theater on league line road. Home School with Time4Learning dot com. I wish I could explain the tethered feelings she has to her business. She misses the physical space, but she misses her guests more. We are at the stand a lot, just letting her be in the space and in her head. 2020 has been made more tolerable for us and we’re more grateful when we appreciate the people and places around us. I promised her that she would forever have a fierce appreciation for her deck crowd and line in every future season.
