Things are starting to move again. I do hope to have some nice items stocked in time for the holidays this season. I think I will have more space to stock in a month.

Bisque, eventually some painted w/glass paints or acrylics 09/24/2015

These are the ones I forgot about and am going to paint.

It usually takes about 4 days of layers of paints for the paints to adhere and protect the pieces. I personally believe that glass paints are sturdier and easier to repair if you bought something then have dings from handling or moving your prized possessions. Paints, instead of glaze are less delicate (at least these are) and are easier to match and repair yourself. No more heart breaks with chipped favorites.

I had bought some items for painting for my booth and forgot all about them. I rediscovered them so I will be applying paint to some of them (they are bisque dragons) and cooking them in the oven to harden the paint (glass paints). I am totally not sure of the colors to make them. I would like to take comments on favorite colors for dragons. Please tell me your favorite dragon colors. Thanks!

For those of you who are keeping up with the dragon paper mache project: I hit a stalling point on how to make the front feet. The dragon is supposed to hang from a shoulder or a shoulder pad, like a little hitchhiker. So, the feet need to be very strong. I saw a cool necklace dragon that made me realize that maybe a chain with the feet wired to it might work, So the next stage will be testing out shoulder chains or shoulder straps. Then I will work on the feet attaching to the chain/strap. Thanks for following my little adventure.

I got a layer of paper mache put onto most of the body of my first paper mache dragon. It is drying hanging in the kitchen where it is warmer to dry faster. I even got the spinal ridge reinforced with paper and glue. When she is dry, I will take a picture or two and post. I still need to add eyes, fingers and toes plus flesh out the wings. This one probably will not have spikes, just the spinal ridge. Maybe some flaring ridges on the eye ridge, chin and nasal openings.

I started a new dragon today. It has a wire and grocery bag armature starting it out for later adding paper mache to. I hope to have it done relatively soon. I won't get too fancy yet. Just to see if this will actually work.

I will be moving many of my rocks from Conroe Central Market soon. The very small ones will be going to Thee Wizard's Den in Willis. When I do this, I will be replenishing the place ( Texas Gem Tree Metaphysical, Healing, Bead & Rock Shop ) with more art work. Particularly dragons. Most likely, the Booth will be renamed Thee Dragon's Den.
